Help with downloading mods

(I don't know if this the right place to be looking for this advice but here goes)

So after playing Xenoverse 2 for some time I found the modding side and Xenoverse 2. Sadly I can't seem to get these mods to work (mostly custom char's). I downloaded the latest patcher and installer, and even downloaded a few mods in through the installer, but after watching a couple of videos from nearly a year ago and some as of patch 1.09 (most of these aren't very clear tho). I can't seem to get any of my mods to work, and also not really sure if I need to launch the game in offline mode (or how to really). Also I have no clue at all on how to install mods that don't have the .x2m extension. Also (pt2) I a few different videos have different locations for the patcher and installer, so not sure on that either (currently both have their files inside the main Xeno 2 directory in the steam file area).

TL;DR Mods don't work, currently on latest patch / file location help for patcher and installer possibly needed

EDIT: Everything is now installed correctly, but the mods still don't work

First things first. Download the Xenoverse 2 Patcher and XV2INS. Take the xv2patcher folder and put it in you DBXV2 game folder. Then take the bin folder from the XV2Patcher and put it in your game directory as well. Install all the required ♥♥♥♥ for x2m, self explanatory. Create a folder in your game directory called data . All of your non x2m mods go in data.
Edit: Also if you want to play with mods go into your bin folder in your game, and double click DBXV2.exe. Starts the game without EasyAntiCheat but it disables the online portion of the game.

Welp then I have no clue what could be wrong

Are you launching the game from the main exe or the one in the BIN folder.
Mods only work in with the DBXV2.exe in the BIN folder, took me a few hours the otherday to figure that out when I first started using transformation mods :P.

Yeah I used the one in the bin folder. When it started it said something along the lines of EAC was deactiviated.

Yeah thats fine it (Just letting you know the anti cheat is offline and you cant play multiplayer) pops up a total of 3 times i think, Once on log in then twice on character select once thats out the way you can just fire up said character.
