Can't level past 85?

A friend of mine is stuck at level 85. He has all the DLC installed, and has been doing all the Namekian missions, but Guru won't unlock the levels past 85. He said that instead, it gave him a bunch of rare items.

It worked fine for me (I have two 99 characters), so I'm confused as to why it wouldn't work for him. Any help would be appreciated.

He must keep doing the missions. The first unlocks attribute point allocation past 100, the other visits unlock the level caps. So unless it's bugged, he must keep repeating the missions and assist Guru's house whenever it's attacked, and I believe he also needs to reach his current level cap to trigger the next.

If all fails, he could start a new character. This character will need to do story again, but the current level cap will be shared, as well as money, equipment and skills. Just skip all cutscenes and the story won't look so long.

Thanks. I had just done all the Guru's House missions as I played through naturally when the game came out, so it never "unlocked" for me, it was just already unlocked.

Have him look under his Play Data. Third page I think. That pages shows quest progress. It shows Guru's Mission progress. Needs to be at 100% before he starts giving you your level cap increases.
