Actually all the DBS animators are getting shifted to the movie (coming in December 2018). The VAs are all mostly now in the show which takes DBS TV Slot (its an anniversary remake of a very old anime - that one shouldn't take long).

The movie is about the origin of the Saiyan origins and the first SSJ/SSJG Yamoshi. Yamoshi's spirit had contact with the elder kai from Namek and might have been the trigger for Beerus dream.

Toyotaro will use this break to catch up with his DBS manga (as the manga will not stop) - he will surpass the anime in about 5-8 months for sure.

I am sure once the movie is done the animators will start to do pre production for a DB anime again (it might be again named Super or could be called completly different - Dragon Ball Universe might fit here too). But this time they can have several months pre production time (not like how the current tight timeframe they have which is very stressful for the animators).

And since the manga would by that time already be further away, Toei can use it's script and this would result in consitent writing and art/animation. As so far the mange did solve a few things way better than the anime.

You must also think that they have to find new VAs for Bulma and Tien (they died last year).

I am mostly looking forward to Toyotaro's input to the future anime, you can tell that he cares a lot for DB and has a lot of fresh ideas, which are also good. The anime will mostly return earliest 2019.

The movie will for sure look sick, we should be able to expect Shida and Takahashi quality throughout the movie (for people not knowing just look for DBS EP 109/110/114/122). That is some insane art quality.

Yep, super ending, next year we're getting GT2 the reboot to gt and the continuation of the dragonball franchise as a whole where they retcon alot of it, but still kill off piccolo

All important things in the plot were solved, last episode was perfect. GT as well as everything post Namek and Cell was for selling toys, but S went beyond reason. Well said bro. Matsui, Kasai, and the animators back then did a fantastic job with GT. It's a shame these kids today just want to fit in with the trendy notion that GT was somehow "bad". Insecure teens gotta fit in with their peers on social media who create these stupid memes. It's pretty sad how lame things have gotten since the 90s. But anyway, you gotta admit though Toei did a great job making a series for kids today who didn't grow up with Z in the 90's. That's all Super is. A poorly animated, poorly written, modern era cookie cutter shonen cash grab. All the kids eat it up though because that's what they're used to in today's industry. And the vast majority of them haven't actually watched Dragon Ball, Z, or GT. Their standards are extremely low. Also kids today are so obsessed with whether something is "canon" or not because of the crimes upon the industry that Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece have committed with their god awful fillers back in the late 00's. They think just because Toriyama is involved, that must mean Super is automatically good lmao. Couldn't be any further from the truth. Toryama is old and tired. He doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ anymore. He isn't even trying anymore and it shows with how awful Super is. Toei and bandai are just forcing him because they aren't done millking the brand yet. If I were Toriyama I would have jumped off a bridge by now lmao

As an aside, I would've found it fun to have some GT/Super crossovers in Xenoverse. A fun thought would be to have Ledgic and Hit meet- they're both hired muscle that wind up coming to be friends with/respect Goku for his fighting skills. Sure, their skillsets are much different (weapons vs time skipping) but it sounds like a fun encounter for a video game.

And what about having Baby during the Commesson mini-arc? Maybe assimilating it or something to that degree to create powerful copies of other characters to use as his minions.

Bring in some other characters like General Rilldo and Luud as a giant boss.

Not a fan of GT myself, but it has some neat ideas that were considered poorly executed. Waste of potential to just leave it on the wayside rather than have some fun with it.

Super made me appreciate GT. While GT was marketing terrible DB game, it also had interesting arcs and bad guys who represented a threat. Super is loads of filler arcs. Tournaments that present no risk and markets Hit/Saiyans beating up no-name characters, and grown men acting like Pan being an idiot. Thanks for destroying the universes, Goku.

The introduction of super gods made me hate what the extended universe has become. An uninteresting idiot child with no fighting power, can delete universes because he is moody and create literally invincible angels. Beerus will murder you because reasons and he didn't do a good enough job, because some poorly explained universal development metric is too low. There are like 20 planets with any life, in the entire universe 7.

Akira Toriyama can also destroy existence, but he needs permission from his boss to do that and doesn't speak like a Pokemon every time he has screen time. He is funny.

Tbh I like how the dragon Ball series did not end with GT and it became once again relevant. It seems like super is running out of gas, Goku has unlocked Ultra instinct, his power level is incredible, his strength rivals that of gods of destruction, so what other height can Goku and Vegeta surpass? Xeno Sama?

There are the angels, who are like 1.5 times stronger than GoD.

So glad it isn't going to stretch for 600 episodes. I can't imagine planning for something like that and I was worried when someone mentioned it.

As a dragonball watcher who hates the overabundance of different transformations, I can confirm that GT was no better than either Super nor the final saga of Z. That super saiyan 4 transformation that they came up with, that ridiculous eyeshadow and pink fur, and requirement to have tails because screw logic... I don't know how to describe the ridiculousness of all of that, it was nothing but nauseating to watch. Many GT lovers give sh*t to people for not liking GT because "we are apparently hating it for not being original", but honestly, I don't hate GT because it wasn't in the original manga, that's not the reason. I hate it because it simply sucks, that's why. It's villains sucked too. Incredibly cheesy. Shadow dragons, like really? I'd say don't judge the fans for hating GT if you liked that kind of story. It was bad as the Buu arc of Z. Tbh, dragonball fell apart for me right after Cell saga ended.

And buu saga was so bad that I don't know how even team fourstar will save that one.

And in hindsight of all of this, I will safely say that Abridged is definitely the best one.
