If you're not interested in multiplayer then there really isn't a problem without it.
The cause of the "error" is either from the program itself derping, or any edit you may have done to the game files (mod managers and such). So if you have not modded anything and are playing the game full vanilla, try restarting your computer/ If the problem persists, do a file integrity verification (right click game title on Steam, then go to properties>Local files to find the option).
lol resource hog? dont see how, even when I only had 8gb of ram I had no performance issues.
EAC is nothing like vac since it doesn't ban you. It only scans the EXE file for things that are connected to it (Cheat Engine, XV2 Patcher, Unautherized DLL files)
