SSJ normal increases melee strikes.
Super Vegeta Increase Ki attacks.

You want super vegeta.

FSSJ doesn't restrict your ki recharge.

I'm having good fun with it. Sure, for ki blaster builds, there's also Earthling and frieza race in gold form, but for striker, Saiyan gets exclusive super souls that work only when transformed into a super saiyan. Like "goku the Legenday Super Saiyan" which gives +15% to strike supers or Cabba's new soul that gives a 20% buff to basic attack and 10% to strike supers, among others.

Now, as a general transformation, people go with PU because it gives a lot of benefits and is somewhat like SSJ2, but with increased ki regen.

As for FSS. I'd need to run it again to see, but the numbers guide says it has the same ki regen restriction as SSJ1. Maybe that's just outdated. Not sure because I can't test right now.

That may have been true on release, but 1.03 or 1.04.1 seems to have included some kind of restriction. From 0 to 100 ki takes my female saiyan a string of 10 light hits. In FSSJ, not even 11 light hits will get from 0 to 100.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=826723770 This guide suggests the reduction is as much as -35%, currently.

I advise testing this.

That's very dumb seeing as FSSJ's main advantage is not slowing Ki Regen. I wonder why they changed it.

The Super Saiyan transformations aren't useless. They provide boosts to Supers and Ultimates. Along with this Super Vegeta has stronger Ki Blast Supers, Super Saiyan provides a better defense buff and has stronger Strike Supers and Basic Attack, while Future Super Saiyan can regenerate Ki faster. If flying away to use a Ki-Charging skill is part of your strategy, you need to maybe completely rework your strategy.

Self ki recharge has some limited use in pve, but I don't see it as an useful ability for pvp indeed.

As for FSSJ, I managed to do a simple test with my fe-saian basic attack and indeed she gets a bit less ki per hit than non transformed. The numbers guide does mention you get a bit faster stamina regen on FSSJ, though.

welp, looks like y'should play a different less overplayed race ^w^ cheers, good job not knowing what your skills do <3

Ssj no longer allows for infinite ki spam. A good thing in my book. It crimps ki recovery sure... but i like that better than wondering when i have to prepare for an inevitable stamina reset from the transformation expiring. Undo the transformation and then reuse it when you have your ki charged.

Theres certain ways to go about using it... but as a player that relies on basic attacks I find the melee perks to be a huge benefit when im not using ki dependent skills

Pretty much this. SSJ3 as a basic attack build with Cabba's soul is a great combination for free damage. I even managed to do the Mira last fight in much less than the needed time for the secret ending by simply punching and not wasting a single bar of ki. And this is as a fe-saiyan, who has the lowest natural basic attack stat in the game.

To add. Future ssj IMO is the best all around version if you want to use ki or strike skills to the maximum as the ki recovery penalty it incurs is relatively minimal while you still get the basic melee buffs (teleporting ranged charged hits) and ki blast teleportation.

Again.. the uses for each type tend to be situational. And theres always methods to maximize benefits while accounting for the penalties

SSJ also allow you move faster towards your target and certain attacks get improved.

Galick Gun for example teleports you right next to your opponent at full charge, kind of like a Warp Kamehameha.

It is way more balanced than Xenoverse 1's SSJ but still worth using.
Smithers Jan 3, 2017 @ 9:27am
I never understood XV1's SS. That whole unlimited Ki thing seemed more like the kind of boosts Broly's transformation would give.
Sandra Crimson Jan 3, 2017 @ 9:31am
It's mostly a preference for which version of SSJ you really want to go for.
ImPulse01 Jan 3, 2017 @ 10:46am
Dude in ssj1 and 2 the slow down on ki regen from combos was never a problem because i have a long combo. try three heavy attacks and then spam light. it's a great ki gaining combo. Also ssj3 does stop ki regen, but if you use heavy attacks you will gain ki from them.
