Saiyan vs Majin, an issue of indecision

So I just got the game on the sale and am plagued with indecision over whether to play as a female saiyan or female majin. I played and earthling in the first game and know I want something different this time. I’ve looked over all the numbers and understand both have pretty good combo strings, and while saiyans have more transformations, female majin have arguably the best passives in the game. But honestly, optimization really isn’t that important to me.

What I’m really looking to figure out is the FEEL, which is more fun or interesting; A cool saiyan or a cute buufu? Which one gets better responses from characters in fights or in the story? I know majins can get some funny ones like “Am I really losing to a BLOB!?” but how few and far between are those? Would the novelty of the “Buufu” wear off before I made a new character and I’d crave the more ‘traditional’ (i.e. human) aesthetic of the saiyan? Or would the novelty of super saiyan degrade as well? Would I even use it after potential unleashed?

As you can see, I’m not great at choices like this and easily overthink things; so do any of you have some input or even just opinions? Again, this isn’t so much about numbers and stat advantages as just the feel and enjoyability of the races. Yeah I know, not that important and I could just try and see for myself, but with only one character slot available at first I’d rather forego the tedium of starting over possibly several times when I may be able to just decide with a little more insight.

buufu ftw xD the transformation is sick. But the first time going ssj3 is a real feel then you realise maybe not the best xD

ssj is better for close combat chracter and buufu have good combo but is good with ki blast power

Well, I had no intention of ever using the purity transformation for the majin. Not only is it my understanding that it sucks but a pallet swapped kid buu isn't appealing in the slightest. But is the ssj3 really that disappointing? I know the ki regen sucks but it does look cool and have some good boosts...

(as a side note I'd suggest just editing the first comment if you wanted to add something- just less post clutter is all :)

I'd use whichever. Unless you're some hardcore online competitive nubjob, the stats will never have THAT much of an impact.

I personally go with majins.

Like I said, not looking for stats or anything- just which is more fun and has more interesting interactions. I did just see some consider the majin stamina break recovery as a crutch, which I did have a bit of unintentional reliance on one in the first game in the form of the earthling ki regen... but thanks for the opinion! Every vote helps!

I guess I should also point out how lame the majin transformation is. It's nothing more than a pallet swap with Kid Buu.

Yeah, that I know. But it does seem like once you get Potential Unleashed that most race specific transformations become pretty much a moot point anyway...

Start as a Majin. Then do all the other races/gender.

Majin has more skills to use for PVE. Healing itself, and have a great ulti for expert missions. On the other hand SSJ gives nice bonuses, and teleporting skill stuff. Making skills like big bang Kamehameha much better against enemies not targeting you. Also SSJ looks badass. I personally prefer majin for raid and expert missions, because the quick sleep.

As someone with a female Saiyan, Saiyans are pretty great. Since female Saiyan has really high ki blast, but low melee damage, SSJ3 balances it's stats out really well. Since launch, I have yet to get tired of how SSJ looks, but if you do, mods are available to change how it looks. Pretty much every Saiyan makes remarks about Saiyan race characters, so you can expect a lot more interaction than a Majin. I really think you'll like making a Saiyan.

Personal opinion; while being a "super original OC Saiyan" is cool (my first character in both Xenoverse games was one) and all the different SS transformations are fun I prefer my female Majin as to me it feels like the most unique of my characters (have one of each race). There's a certain novelty to smacking around Beerus with wacky waving arms and screwball attacks and there is a fair bit of dialogue about how baffling it is that a humanoid gumball is strong enough to fight against heavy hitters like Frieza and Goku which is nice. Also the benefit of being able to have up to 10 Buu kids is a big plus when it comes to unlocking outfits/super souls.

With Saiyans it's about what you'd expect. SS3 or Super Vegeta 2 are great transofmrations, you get a lot of comments from NPC's about how "Saiyans are a warrior race" and it's all good fun but it's kind of lame that you can only go up to SS3 and can't maintain your transformation in cutscenes while Goku is standing around in all his blueper Saiyan glory.
