DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2

So after 19 hours of playing, I've learned one thing...
Specializing in strike skils is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless.

I've acquired one strike ultimate so far and it takes 5 ki bars, is almost impossible to connect and barely does more damage than my normal strike supers. You're pretty much useless in expert missions as all the other people are constantly hitting them out of your combos. Pretty much all the Z-souls only amplify ki blasts as well.

Seriously, I feel like I've wasted all my progress on this character for having focused on it. There doesn't seem to be a single reason to pay strike skills a single thought.

If you are looking for strike ults, justice combination and death meteor are about the best, but yes there are only a hand full of strike ults in the game, dissapointing.

If you use justice combo people accuse you of cheesing, but they don't realise it is literally the only good strike ult out of about 8 in total that we can choose from...

I know about Justice Combination, but as I understand it, it's a late game skill. It's not just that there's so few of them, it's also the fact that there's literally no reason to invest in strike skills as there's pretty much no situation in which they are better than ki blast skills.

well no strikes are much more reliable than blasts. You can basically finish the game with basic combos finished into meteor crash and deadly dance. I only do pq's with my striker chars, i hate doing pq's with my blaster chars, but then it is the opposite for expert missions.

Some of the best supers in the game are strike skills, like Super Mad Dance, which does an additional 2 hits if you're transformed. A very late game strike super exists with a bit of range that finishes with a gap closer, Rakshasa's claws. There's one other ranged strike move that I think is used by Golden Freiza that's pretty good as well but I forget what it is.

Shining slash is an amazing strike super that if you charged allows you to gap close any distance to a locked on target and hit for good damage, and if you time it properly can be chained into a grab instantly as long as they don't block the attack.

Burning slash has the same damage as Deadly Dance give or take one point if you're SSJ3 or something, and if you use it in the middle of a combo has zero delay, and goes off way faster than Deadly Dance, just make sure you follow it up with the ki blast for full damage, which you just do by putting in the input again while the attack is happening.

That plus Justice Combination and honestly you are set as far as moves go. Forget a second strike ult, use Death Meteor if you have to, but honestly just put Energy Zone so you can heal yourself and allies between bouts, more useful really.

So to run it down:
Supers: Shining Slash, Burning Slash, Deadly Dance, Maximum charge.
Ultimates: Justice Combination, Energy zone
Awoken: Super Saiyan if a Saiyan, Potential Unleashed for anything else.

Obviously these don't work for Expert Missions, but you can always use Super Villain Metal Cooler for those, as he has an amazing charge move and really good ki blast damage. Spam Death Beam, or Supernova depending on the misson.

Good post. I have Deadly Dance and I elected to replace Maximum Charge with hyper drain for the added damage and stamina gain, but do you mind just quickly saying where these skills can be found?

Also, just wondering if anybody knows this; what does the power pole scale with? Is it basic attacks?

Believe Shining Slash is gotten from PQ 38 and the Ultimate Finish, might take some farming.

Burning Slash is from PQ 43, likely the ultimate finish as well

Energy zone is buyable from the skill shop.

Justice Combination you get from training with Gohan and Videl, who appear near the school after you complete all the Saiyaman quests and the blue ! mark that involves them. Any other questions?

Other than my question about power pole and whether it scales of basic attack or not, I don't think so. Thanks mate, you've been great.

Hm Power Pole. If you mean the super, it should scale off strike supers. The awakened version's normal attacks SHOULD scale basic attack, but I'm not completely sure.

Yeah, the awakened version is what I was wondering about.
