It's a good thing someone has some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense around here...
"3. EasyAntiCheat will take screenshots of your game screen and upload them on public servers, viewable to everyone, if the server provider wishes so. The author of this software and EasyAntiCheat takes no responsibility of screenshots captured outside the game screen. If any personal or harmful information is captured into a screenshot, the user is fully responsible of the happened incident and any consequences it may result in. (In case this happens to you, please inform your server provider to remove unwanted screenshots from the server.)"
So yeah it's pretty damn concerning for ppl who play in windowed mode and those who tend to alt tab. It doesn't seem to be running when the game closes but this is bad enough imo
I had to end it in task manager in order to re launch xv2 because steam said it was still running even tho it wasn't even open.
The fact EAC says theres still a game running with EAC after I closed game1 and open game2 that both contain it... doesnt always occur but it does occur frequently...
That, and it only screenshots your game, not anything else on your desktop.
Again, the reactions this is garnering is reactionary and alarmist.
To the guy who said "this anti cheat has been proven to hang or stay open when after you close the game" WHAT proof? The only thing resembling "proof" was a pirated version used for CSGO and CSGO eSports-- and that was only because it was pirated.
EAC being spyware is like the Slenderman of software on the internet. There's no PROOF that its spyware features (beyond screenshotting your game, OOOH! SPOOKY!) exist, but people will insist it does.
You can literally check it any time you want. And if the service is somehow MIRACULOUSLY still open, it's because a XV2 process is open too, in which case your Steam will show it.
