No, there's no "keylogger" or system scanning with EAC.

I saw someone perpetuating the infamous "EAC keylogs you" myth, and I just wanted to say that you're perpetuating an old, old myth about it. For starters, if you want to check if it's "keylogging" you offline, just open your Windows services and look for it while the game is off: it should label the Startup Type as "Manual", and the Status shouldn't be there (if it doesn't say "Running", the program isn't running).

I don't like that mods are gone either, but that's not a reason get pissy and downvote the game (SHOCKER, you're not supposed to be modding the game!! And btw, they're definitely going to fix it, anyway. CC @Rhymestyle, peep his Twitter) into oblivion and craft ludicrous conspiracy theories.

The "EAC keylogs you" conspiracy is a very old one that dates back to CS eSports in which EAC was used... but it was pirated. Again, IMAGINE MY SHOCK! Pirated programs can keylog you!

I don't see the point in everyone downvoting the game, it isn't going to accomplish anything, if anything it is going to make no more new players join because they will think that the game is just garbage.

thats the point to hurt the sales of the game to make the company to react and this has proven succesful multiple times, only way to effect companies enough to make change is to hurt their wallets because that is all they care about.

What it DOES do is take full desktop screenshots when it damn well pleases even when you have the game alt tabbed putting privacy and personal info at serious risk especially for those who play in windowed mode. Doesn't affect me in the slightest bc I found a way to disable it but this IS a valid concern.

Well the person isn't wrong about the exe file staying open after it closes....
I had to end it in task manager in order to re launch xv2 because steam said it was still running even tho it wasn't even open.

This is an issue with XV2 in general. If the Xenoverse 2 game is still open, then naturally EAC would be open, too. The process has closed EVERY SINGLE TIME I've closed my game and made sure the game closed (Steam will highlight the blue border around your profile pic as Green when the game is open).

That, and it only screenshots your game, not anything else on your desktop.

To the guy who said "this anti cheat has been proven to hang or stay open when after you close the game" WHAT proof? The only thing resembling "proof" was a pirated version used for CSGO and CSGO eSports-- and that was only because it was pirated.

EAC being spyware is like the Slenderman of software on the internet. There's no PROOF that its spyware features (beyond screenshotting your game, OOOH! SPOOKY!) exist, but people will insist it does.

You can literally check it any time you want. And if the service is somehow MIRACULOUSLY still open, it's because a XV2 process is open too, in which case your Steam will show it.

I NEVER said anything about keylogging and in the very statement you quoted said that i don't see evidence of it running when the game is closed. But having the game take desktop screens whenever it damn well pleases even when the game is alt tabbed is more than enough of a privacy concern that keylogging isn't necessary to make this a problem.
