Meteor Burst is very strong, but impossible to land.
I've been able to land it only a couple of times out who knows how many tries. It does some insane damage when fully charged but the charge up time is far too long, can't even set it up with a female Majin who has one of the better combos for ultimate set ups.

Gave up trying to land it with my male Saiyan and it's too inconsistent with my female Saiyan. Turtle Style Last Resort doesn't leave them stunned long enough to do a fully charged Meteor Burst.

How do you make that ultimate work in a 1v1 scenario? It only ever works ( sometimes ) in team fights.

Heavy breaks are your friend. That or light break in the air, hit them stop let them fall and then cast it. The extra time getting up helps in either situtation.

so best way to make it land is to use a combo where your opponent falls to the ground, and then vanish with him to the ground. Then activate it
(if you press the button twice it increases activation speed, ex L2+square and just keep mashing square until it fully activates)

Of course this is all when your opponent is stamina broken

You can also do a light break --> lulliby punch --> meteor burst in the air. Any other time you're better off with any guard break state at the ground and a ground smash
if you press it really quick it will do a quicker start up time version of meteor burst with the cost of like1,000 damage, what i do is heavy stamina break, or stamina break into fully charged sledgehammer, descend with them, when on ground use double tap meteor burst.

If you're curious, try out "Cross arm dive" after you stamina break and do a regular combo that throws your opponent down, then use Meteor Burst. I haven't tried the combo, but cross arm dive is similar to sledgehammer, but does more damage when your opponent is thrown down.

If you Light Stamina Break them, you can use Crusher Ball to launch them in the air, it'll stagger them long enough for you to use Meteor Burst in the air, its quite the spectacle

Yep, as others have said, heavy stamina break or trigger it when being charged if you're feeling lucky. Make sure to smash the button again so that it goes off sooner. Even with heavy guard break, the 2000ish extra damage for the full move isn't worth.

Another thing you could do is to light stamina break, then immediately follow up with a fully-charged Sledgehammer. Descend with them to the ground (or use Instant Transmission, but that would require using a move slot), and then launch the attack. I'm not sure about the elongated version of the attack, but it's definitely more than enough to launch the quick-fire version of Meteor Burst.

[EDIT] I just realized that Ghastly KitFlix posted this method before me. My bad.

Ah, the old combo that just kills everything... light stamina break into heavy stamina break, meteor burst into heatdome attack and if they're still kicking throw a kaioken kamehameha at them
Majin Mew Oct 16, 2017 @ 10:48pm
Possible setups:

- light stamina break, then heavy break
- heavy stamina break
- light stamina break, then fully charged Sledgehammer (if used high up in the air, you could use Instant Transmission to descend)
- any knockdown string during stamina break
- no stamina break, just fully charged Sledgehammer
-Gotcha! Soul

Also be aware that there is a quick Version of Meteor Burst. You just have to do the button input TWICE instead of once to activate it and skip a part of the animation. You will lose some damage, but the skill will still deal top tier damage.

Very true. After all, even with the damage drop, it's still a ludicrously powerful ultimate.
Better to just show you then tell you lol

"Very strong, but impossible to land"

Which makes it all the more rewarding when you land it.
