Raid Etiquette
First of all, kudos to the developers who finally made online raids playable. They're not a lag fest anymore nor they crash mid-fight 80% of the time. YAY!

Ok, moving on: Here are a few pointers that could be of use as well as suggestions that could help you improve everyone's raid experiece. Feel free to add your own.

1: First and foremost: DEFEND AGAINST THE RAZOR ATTACK.
The move announces itself pretty visibly, when you see it, stop what you're doing and GUARD! Actually, don't guard, use Drain Field. It'll block ALL the damage, give you a f-ton of ki and doesn't cost ki or stamina. If you don't think there's time to activate Drain Field (which is often the case), use Vanisher Guard or regular block. I guess Super Guard does the trick too, but costs ki instead of actually giving you ki, like Drain Filed does. I've seen some people do some vanishing voodoo to avoid it too, not sure what move that is.

2: Use items that benefit the whole team.
I keep seeing "____ used Energy Capsule Z", and that's just silly. At this point most people must have tens of millions of zeny. Go buy some All-Energy/Regen capsules, ya cheapskates!

3: If you want to play with your buddies, make private slots or a group or something. Making a public lobby and kicking people who stumble upon it is a waste of everyone's time.

4: Look for a chance to revive your allies
If everyone but 2 or 3 people die, you should probably think about going and reviving your allies. If you're the boss's target, maybe distract them while the others do the reviving. But definitely don't play it cool by not reviving when you clearly have the chance. You'll regret it when they throw a giant ki blast or mind-control you. Even NPC have their use, since they'll revive others as well. If they systematically ignore point number 1, though, just leave them there.

5: Choose your skills and Super Souls strategically.
Don't just use the build that you think looks cool or works on pvp. Raids are very different fights. Use skills that don't leave you wide open, Super Souls that heal the team, whatever you like, but do it so it adds something to the raid. Test them, do some trial-and-error, and observe other players.

6: Don't rage-quit.
Just don't. Especially if you're the host. If the Dragon Ball series taught us something is that there's always hope to turn a dire situation around. I've been in some raids that have gone this way and it feels awesome :P

7. Mute yourself if you're not going to actually talk or say useful things. I'm pretty sure having your audio open might cause additional lag. Also I've had to play with people with the mic open and all you can hear is their game at like 3 times the volume of my own, or some heavy breathing, chewing and keyboard mashing. It's really annoying.

8: Read point number 1 again.

But only spank the monkey once his stamina is almost full, you don't want him to go off prematurely

I've never done Raids, is it similar to Expert Missions?

It is. It's online only, items are usable and the boss is much harder.

Basically, the boss has a global amount of health, and players all over are collectively contributing to reduce it. Once it dies, it goes up a level and now it's stronger and has more health. The goal is to get it to Lv.99 and beat it, but with the current amount of players (and difficulty level), it hardly gets to 50.
The short-term goal of most fights is to endure 3 minutes, but when its health is low enough, you can finish it off and it levels up. Players who were in the team that kills it, get a reward each time. You also get rewards for your overall damage contribution, like rare clothing and TP medals.

I liked raid bosses in the past. Too bad like 90% of the players has no clue what to do. I wrote a similar guide in the past too, but most players don't like reading either. Got bored when after 9 try the team finally didn't got crashed at start, then everyone but me and maybe one other died in the first razor attack.

I actually had no clue Drain Field worked on Peeler Storm, though I guess it makes sense (as Peeler Storm is technically a Ki Blast Super). I usually just Step-Vanish to avoid the attack, or as you call it "vanishing voodoo". I know you can also perfect block, or as some call it "Just Guard", Peeler Storm entirely (AI loves to do it sometimes, it looks amazing).

Personally I have more trouble with Marbling Drop, as sometimes it will home in on you and take most of your health away with very little warning. Though I do suppose I could easily go about testing what can counter it, other than the obvious fly away and hope it doesn't hit you (perhaps Drain Field will also work on it, as I seem to recall it still hitting you out of Super Guard).

Yah, the Drain Field trick is incredibly useful. I learned that by seeing someone else do it (I'm almost sure it was MysticRayquazard23).

Oh yeah, Marbling Drop is a pain!! Great Ape Baby didn't use it, thankfully, so I forgot about it. My standard procedure is just fly away, provided I don't get stamina-broken and subsequently crushed by it. I wouldn't rely on just-guard, since there might be lag and it might not register properly (also, I suck at it).
I'd love to hear what people are doing against it.

How can I know when a raid will start? I don't see anything on twitter and facebook!
Parsnip Aug 28, 2017 @ 11:33am
It's pretty much a surprise. They have the worst communication. Even when the game itself announces say an event is announced at the News Board, there's never anything on it.

Check ingame on saturdays and sundays. That's what I do. That, and hope I don't have plans that day D:

You mean the giant blue balls? Vanisher guard as soon as possible, or super guard. Haven't used Drain Field yet.

I might use Vanisher Guard, since that's what I use and I don't have more super slots to spare.
Haven't tried Drain Field on the blue balls either. I have a feeling it might not work, but who knows?
