Experience required to level to 90
So. A day ago, I got curious about how much exprience was needed to roll up from 85 to 90. So I copied my save, stored it in a safe place, and used Certain Engine to give me infinite dragon ball wishes. I then loaded a perfectly plain level 85 character and went on my merry way to totally annoy Shenron. Here's the numbers I've got.
85 to 86 = 1453950
86 to 97 = 2003950
87 to 88 = 2653950
88 to 89 = 3453950
89 to 90 = 4403950
...this all sums up to 13969750. That's near 14 million exp on those 5 levels alone. And most likely more exp than all the previous levels put together. Of note is that for some reason, all of the numbers end in 3950. Some secret message here? Lastly... Shenron was not amused.

Editing this here because people seem to miss it. You can legitly farm dragon balls and ask Shenron to level you up more than once. You can level up to 90 by solely using the "I want to grow" wish as many times as levels you need.

Yeah. I DID use the wish itself for the test. Just wanted to note the level up shenanigans this game has. but yeah, those numbers tell people who have a life to just farm for dragon balls instead.

Well, that's kinda boring af. I'd prefer to level up through figthing rather than farming the dragonballs, but if that's the case than dragonballs FTW; also, thank you for telling us this info.

Myabe I'm going a bit OT but, it seems that there is a bug around in which people can't incease theri level cap. Was that fixed until now?

I don't think so. Last small update was VC redist. Nothing related with bug fixing the game itself.

And I also prefer grinding, but these numbers are plain ridiculous, considering most one can get from a mission (in EM 17) is somewhere around 200k. Maybe 230 if lucky. Try doing this to all your characters. :/

Is it true you can only use the leve up wish once? Maybe it was misinformation, but that's what I've read/seen various places.

It was like that in XV1, so many people, me included, decided to save the wish for the last level cap in the last DLC, but people started finding out that you can make the wish multiple times. So now the recommendation is to farm dragon balls, which can be faster than grinding the last few levels.

OP the reason is to pad out the game's playtime. See if 5 levels are 14 million XP then you're going to have to grind for a very long time to earn that. Or just make a few wishes to Shenron.

Yeah, nope thanks, I prefer to spend that time somewhere else .___.

Regarding the wishes thing...wasn't it limited on XV1 in which you couldn't ask the level up one for the last levels added through the new level cap?

Answered above, but again, limited to one in XV1, not limited (yet) in XV2. Now you can make the wish many times. I did so for the character I used as test to provide the numbers.

Or to bore people to death. Both the grind method and the DB farm method can get boring very fast when all your sources of either exp or dragon balls are limited to two or three missions. Even though you can get dragon balls from fighting patrollers in many missions, it's usually not worth hunting those. Though the option to do something slightly different is there and still get something done. But let's face it, most will just go farm dragon balls in the Apes quest...

It's all to pad gametime. Whether you're grinding for levelup wishes, souls, clothing, skills, or XP it's all designed to keep you playing until you can't stand it anymore.

Apes quest is the best imo because even if you don't get a Dragonball on that run you still get a bunch of XP.

Ah my bad, I thought that you were still talking about XV1.

Agreed, though I don't think this is the right game for that. Not because of game design, but because of how the net code is so bad, people can't really party up properly to grind together.. Well, at least on PC.

Say, which "ape quest" are you guys talking about? I'm asking because I'd like to see how well it works, too. Thanks in advance!
