It will work, but you will be forced to use Xbox One Button prompts like (B) will be shown instead of (o), (Y) instead of (^), but that's about the only difference.
Also now and then one of the buttons will cause the controller to rumble, it's a bug with the game, fix it by quickly pressing the Sony home button and press again to go back into the game, it will refresh the controller and stop the vibration bug untill it happens again.
Also the Original DUalshock 4's had better build quality, I'm on my third Second Generation one, first had trigger and left stick issues, second one had issues with the home button failing, and being enabled by using the sticks.
I miss my White first Gen.
The Light strip on the front of the touchpad is also a stupid design as once it gets scuffed it breaks the straight line and makes the whole thing look dodgy.
