I got the pre order version and cant play this game with a Playstation 4 gamepad

i can plug it with a stick i bought or with the normal charge cable but every time i start dragonball xenoverse 2 in the menu it is scrolling down when i press no button and i cant stop it very well. And if i am connected my char is just spinning around. In every other game my controller work very well on pc and on ps3

Have you tried setting it up through Steam big picture mode?

How it could help? I got the problems ingame not in steam. The game and steam are 2 different processes.

So..? Big picture mode has a built in controller configurator in the settings and it might fix it, if not, try looking for a ps4 controller driver from Sony I guess, or check the controller calibration in windows control panel > devices and printers

If you cant get all of the above suggestions to work you can use a controller program like DS3 Tool to emulate your PS4 controller as a xbox 360 controller

same Problem. i can Play xenoverse without Problem and other games too like rocket league. but when i want to Play xenoverse 2 i cant scroll up. and when i want to fix it with a tool my X and O are bot O in the menu ..... never saw that before and i dont know how to fix that

try to start xenoverse on big picture mode it will help you (it helped me)

Einfach im big picture mode starten dann solltest du keine probleme mit irgend einem spiel haben
Du kannst auch über steam den controller konfigurieren

Guys, I figured out the problems with the PS4 controllers. Only the original ps4 contoller models work. Xenoverse 2 does not support the new model that comes with the ps4 slim and ps4 pro for whatever dumb reason. If you are using the newer model, then all your buttons will be displayed on xenoverse 2 as numbers. You will almost always navigate downwards in menus and your view will always spin in circles. Make sure that if you are using a ps4 controller, you use the older model. I spent hours trying to get my newer model ps4 controller to work. I eventually gave up. Came back the next day and to my surprise it was working just fine. Then I realized I picked up the wrong controller and I was actually using the older model one. THE OLDER MODEL PS4 CONTROLLERS WORK, NOT THE NEW ONES!!!

He's correct about it working with the older Ps4 Controllers without the Light along the front of the Touchpad, however you can get it to work by using big picture mode on steam, going into options on controllers, enabling ps4 configuration, then going into big picture mode on xenoverse, then manage game, click on controller options, use steam configuration, then disable rumble.
It will work, but you will be forced to use Xbox One Button prompts like (B) will be shown instead of (o), (Y) instead of (^), but that's about the only difference.
Also now and then one of the buttons will cause the controller to rumble, it's a bug with the game, fix it by quickly pressing the Sony home button and press again to go back into the game, it will refresh the controller and stop the vibration bug untill it happens again.
Also the Original DUalshock 4's had better build quality, I'm on my third Second Generation one, first had trigger and left stick issues, second one had issues with the home button failing, and being enabled by using the sticks.
I miss my White first Gen.
The Light strip on the front of the touchpad is also a stupid design as once it gets scuffed it breaks the straight line and makes the whole thing look dodgy.

You don't need the steam controller support, just plug and play. Make sure ps4 support is off
