Animated Textures???
I have an animated heart beat monitor that I was to grunge up and maintain the animation. Is the creation of an animated texture possible in SP(1 or 2)? If so, how would one go about doing it.

No, Substance does not support animated textures yet.

Ok, I'll just continue to create multiple layers of the stuff that's animated, export them as separate names and blend them together using 3rd party stuff then...

GIMP, PS, ShareX, Camtasia... to name a few. Image Magick (command line) is another.

SEE ABOVE QUOTE: Doesn't matter what you make animated textures in, Substance painter does not suport them.

The way I make Animated textures in SP is by multiple layers in the same session. I paint the model one way, export the textures for the first frame, turn off textures not required and create new textures for the second, then do the same process until I have the frames i need for the animated texture creating folder froups of the textures so I san turn them on or off for export. Doing multiple exports from the same session is tricky, Make sure you save the textures for each frame to a different folder or SP will overwrite previously exported textures. (Or create a new template so things get named properly on export. (I haven't figured this one out yet))

Once I have my model painted with all the frames I'm going to use, I can simulate the animation, by turning folders visibility off and on in sequence.

Once exported it's just a matter of finding a paint program that will create the animated texture in the format and for the engine you want to you it in.
