its been more than Two years, Symmetry is still broken.

This model is perfectly symmetrical. everything was made using mirror modifiers. Supposedly Symmetry is based on model bounding box. clearly this is not the case.
there are no extra objects in the scene, no empties, cameras, nothing. this symmetry offset is unbelievably bad.

Evidently this isn't the case.
there have been threads asking for a manual symmetry offset since 2014 (substance painter 1 was the only available). Why hasn't this been addressed? what is going on allegorithmic?

Is that model zero'd out so its center is aligned to the world origin?
I just tested, centering model to world origin is not required for symmetry to work properly.
