Please check your framerate pressing "F" on your keyboard during a match. You will see a number on your virtual hand. It must be >88.
My problem was on simulation mode. When I switched to arcade my forehands were fine. What can I be doing wrong?
Arcade mode will erm..hmm. It kind of...tollerates your mistakes. Yea, that's it
The chasm between Arcade and Sim mode is quite big in this game (imo) And that is the thing. In Sim mode, you have to just play better than you do in Arcade. A lot!
I still have trouble with over hitting my backhands, I can clear the net fine but sometimes...a (REALLY) lot!! They just go at 200 mph with next to no effort and kill a Ball Boy/Girl/Spectator
I really have to think about my backhand in Sim mode, pretty fun though and I really should play more...It's a great game.
You can play a two handed backhand right now if you want.
There should be some sort of delay to simulate the travel to the net, but any visual delay would cause nausea instantaneously. Maybe a 1.5 second timer before you press the port butten or something?
And yes, teleporting to the net is a bit like cheating and it will not used in multiplayer mode for sure. I'm not sure that a timer is the best way because the player may have the feeling that the button doesn't work.
What about a hybrid "third-person/teleport" mode? So when you press the stick you see your player run out in front of you while your view remains stationary. And when you release the stick your view teleports to the player's location.
Some VR games use this as an option, such as From Other Suns.
Thank you for your suggestion, i will look into it!
Could you describe what happens exactly when you hit a forehand?

What would be ideal is if there was a setting for the forehand racket-face angle. With this I could change the angle so when I hit a forehand the angle of the racket-face is rotated about -90 degrees. Some people use a semi-western grip so they would probably prefer around -45 degrees.
The backhand would not use this rotation. IRL I rotate the grip depending on if it's a forehand or backhand. You would have to change the rotation angle in the software depending on if it's a forehand or backhand.
Thanks for your interest in this issue.
