Not even Star Citizen does that these days (just 1-2 months lol).
I love the game, but good grief.
Never expected something to be delayed more than a whole month.
It hasn't released yet. That's why it's in "Early Access". I presume it went to EA when it did, because they needed funding that could be supplied by those people who are willing to pay and play and find what fun there is to be found in this far from complete game.
But yes, if you come into this expecting a near complete game, you'll be extremely disappointed. So to those who haven't bought it yet, and want a near complete or a complete game, wait until later in EA or when it actually realeases. (Leaves Early access).
I'd say check back every 6 months and see if it's where you'd like it to be.
I do agree with some of the other comments: I would rather see already-implemented mechanics/features fixed up and optimized before tacking more onto the framework, but, from what I've experienced thus far, all we, the players, need to do is be patient while y'all tackle this project, and we will have something magnificent. The potential is definitely there. Realizing that potential takes time.
