Why didn’t all of my pipes break? And what’s this about renaming things?
As for re-naming hmm well I say check out some of these Tutorials on Youtube will hopefully help you out a bit at least they did for me :) but for thrusters basically your FCU has a list of all thrusters with specific names.. like ThrusterPowerLevel01 02 and so on.. you have to rename an attribute in the thruster to match that.

a slightly older one but still good.

The thrusters have unique names and they have to correspond to the names in the FCU, the blue box behind the pilot seat. Press U while looking at it and it lists the names as ThrusterPowerLevel01 through ThrusterPowerLevel50. So you get 50 thrusters you can use than can be any name you want but it defaults to this.
If you place a new thruster it will auto name its self. If you move a thruster or place one you harvested off a previous ship it keeps its original name. This runs into the situation where 2 or more thrusters have the same name and fire at the same time causing all sorts of shenanigans sometimes.
I would really like it if I could just tick a box and have it auto rename thrusters and remove conflicts for me outside of the ship editor.
No problem, it seems super complicated when you first get into the game but you soon pick up the basics :)
