What about PvP
Hello,
Im thinking about buy this game, but iread somhere that outside safe zone is completly free PvP. So im affraid that gameplay outside safezone looks like on Albion Online in PvP zones, i.e. you go in and collect resources and five players will immediately appear and kill you. And i know that outside safe zone are high lvl resources. So how it look in Starbase?

Yup. Peeps are just waiting behind every roid and jump gate to nab you outside the safe zone. They use little, tiny ships that are cheap to replace and cost them almost nothing.

A PvP zone is exactly how you would expect it to be.
You cannot afford to be a person who doesn't want to do PvP in a PvP area of a PvP game.

If you wish to be a Miner or Trader or Hauler then you have to take precautions such as either hiring an escort to escort you to your destination or provide protection while you mine.

Or you can be part of a company and only go out in the PvP area in a group containing both fighters and miners.

If such things do not interest you then your only options is to purchase high value or rare ores in the Auction house.

Now if none of this interests you then this game is simply not designed for you.
It's entirely safe to go outside of the safezone.

You can exit the safezoneboarder at any point of 31415 kilometers.
Past that point you can go even further and further.
Space is pretty vast.

So the most dangerous place to leave the safezone is right at the border - after that it becomes nearly impossible to meet players.

You're a little dot and the entire asteroidbelt is filled with fog that hides you.

Some people decide to leave their shipmarker on for everyone to see within 100km.
They come to the forums to whine about it after being "visited" by one of those players.

If you want to be a happy person: Don't fly anything outside the safezone that youre not willing to lose.
Make a ship for the safezone. Make a copy of the ship. Fly the copy outside.
Else you're going to be butthurt when you crash it into an asteroid or lose it otherwise.

And: Turn off your shipmarker when you leave the safezone.

In all my time playing, I have never even seen another ship outside the safe zone, let alone a hostile one. You can avoid them pretty easily by just turning your transponder off and making sure no one tails you from the station you left. I started at one of the lower population origin stations though so things could be different at the extremely high pop ones.

People whine about getting ganked, but you can totally manage it so that you don't. The "pvp zone" is huge. All you have to do is fly far away from the spawn before you leave the safe zone. The space is so big, you are almost guaranteed to not run into anybody if you are smart. The risk is still there, but you just have to be smart about it.

I've played for 191 hours and never have been found by a pvpr and I go outside the safe zone on most of my mining runs. BUT you gotta be smart about it. DO NOT fly out there with your transponder on! that just says KILL ME! like others have said. DO NOT fly out in a straight line from the station directly into the belt to head toward the center as that's where a lot of folks seem to wait to pop you as well as down by the warp gate. I also try not to fly in a strait line back to the station. My friend got hit by doing this with a full cargo hold so he was nice and slow. I also like to stop and get out to look around before exiting the safe zone if I happen to be in my bigger slow ship and see if I spot any thruster trails following me
Basically try and think like a pirate and where the easiest place to catch people would be. It takes more time but better to be safe than to lose your ship. I actually find it kind of exciting most times as I smuggle the good stuff back to base. :)

Well the PVP zone is massive and this game is really designed around that so will be getting a lot more in the way of updates for the PVP mechanics..

There is a safe zone you can stay in and ways to help avoid detection in the pvp zone but the reality is if you dont like PVP then it might not be the game for you.

The safe zone is massive. Realistically you'll never need to venture out into the PvP zone unless you want to make money faster; you can sell ores you collect in the safe zone to buy ores from the PvP zone on the auction house.

As for the PvP zone, I've been in it many times and have yet to encounter another player. As long as you turn your transponder off and don't hang around near the safe zone border the probability of encountering another player is incredibly low. Just make sure you aren't followed into the PvP zone.

To give an example of just how unlikely you are to encounter other players the further you go into the PvP zone, my ship spent a week in the PvP zone unattended (ships don't log out when you do, they persist regardless of where they are, so if you log out in the safe zone your ship sits around ready to be attacked). Despite spending a week unattended in the PvP zone my ship was untouched. I did find another ship in the PvP zone however, unattended and with the transponder on. Had the transponder been off, I would have never found the ship.

Ultimately, just make sure you have a backup ship if you're planning on going into the PvP zone. As safe as it is, there's still some level of risk, so be prepared for that risk and don't use ships you can't afford to lose.

Easy progression for " i need it fair people"

1: take your first ship into pvp zone or pve zone its free and you can get more. get the basics to craft a few ships. at worse you lose 20 min of work in the pvp zone not going too far. If not just stick to safe easy peasy.

2; buy your ships or design it

3: have enough to print 4-5 ships

Eventually you'll have nothing to do. why do you need ores outside of safe zone if you make more money in safe zone.

grind easy, spend easy. enjoy pvp on your terms or go "explore" whatever that means.

it's really that simple and the devs cushioned it to make it really streamlined i you follow their intention. The devs even made a post about how they thought people would progress and of course no one did it that way.
