How to mod the Steam version with TQDefiler!!!!!
I have been fighting for hours trying to get TQDefiler to work, including the mods it loads. I found that if I downloaded a different game.dll file it would allow me to mod the game. I only own the Original (Vanilla TQ), with out the expansion.

You can download the game.dll from: http://www.titanquest.net/tq-forum/threads/9554-Need-Backups-Or-Original-Game-Files-Come-Here!

So, just download that, replace the original. Start the game from Steam to assure it loads. If it does load with no problems, exit the game, then open up TQDefiler, the net version, that is up to date. Go to the mods tab, and turn on whatever. Exit defiler, and start the game, if you character doe not show up you can just go to the title screen of Titan's Quest, and the in TQDefiler, select "Patch Game". Tab back to the game, and select single player, load into your character, then save the game.

Ta da, TQDefiler mods work fine!

Have fun.

Have to DL the one for the version of the game you are playing. The bottom list is the non immortal throne .dll, top part is the imortal throne .dll. Download the correct version from there (1.08, etc).

And this won't get you VAC banned? I know my question seems dumb. I'm just a bit paranoid about the security of my games.

I do not believe so. That question would be better posed to a steam agent. I haven't had any problems though.

Good work.

The 'Undo Mastery Anytime' option is not available to me in the Mods section.

Eh, I didn't have a problem with that myself. I picked one and unlearned it not long after. Did you make sure to do that, then patch the game?

I can do it thru the Masteries tab but I was talking about the 'Undo Mastery Anytime' option on the Mods screen.

This works also by going into TQDefiler Mods By screen, click Main, then Advanced. Download the appropriate game.dll version (should be 1.30 for Steam TQ w/o IT) from there, and overwrite the existing game.dll wherever you installed TQ. Click Close on the Advanced screen then you will see the Mods screen update; Raven's mods will automatically de-select (and you'll no longer see whatever ridiculous values were there), also SoulSeekkor's and Bman's mods will become available.

Download the appropriate game.dll version (should be 1.30 for Steam TQ w/o IT, D2D version seems to match the normal one, so use either) from there, and overwrite the existing game.dll wherever you installed TQ.

Thanks a BUNCH!
One downer though (I'm guessing since it's an executable edit that implements the mod), I can't select the one mod which I'd gotten TQD for in the first place... the permanent patch so TQV would be all I needed from then on.
Now I'll still need to livepatch the mem once after every vault edit, but at least it works.
