Guide - "Link with another service" mission via emulator

Disclaimer:

Before you reprimand me for even mentioning emulators, ask what the devs have to say about sponsored content creators like Kripparrian who openly promoted the game using an emulator.


Back on topic:

Problem 1: Account link feature not available on Steam at the time of writing.

Problem 2: Suitable device that would have the feature just exploded.

Solution: Emulators.


- Step 1: Download and install an Andoid emulator. I personally used Andy OS.

Yes, emulators love to install worthless software on your computer, so make sure to decline McAfee or whatever when offered during the installation.

- Step 2: Download the up-to-date Shadowverse xapk file.

- Step 3: Double click the file and open it with andyapk.exe to install.
If that doesn't work, try one of the other executables you find in your Program Files -> Andy folder.

- Step 4: Run the game in your emulator. You may need to log into your Google+ account to play.

- Step 5: Create a device link in your Steam version of the game and copypaste it into your emulator version to link your progress.

[WARNING]

Do not generate the code in your fresh install of Shadowverse with no progress. You cannot backup your data in the Steam version at the time of this writing because they haven't implemented the account link feature yet.
If you enter the code from your zero progress version of Shadowverse, you will lose your progress in your Steam version because the device link is a snapshot of your save data that overrides save data on the device where you enter it.

If the device link feature on the start screen doesn't work, skip or beat the tutorial to access the More tab in the game's taskbar where both link features are located.

- Step 6: Establish an account link (not device link) either with your Google Play or Facebook account.

The mission should have cleared and given you 3 tickets. Confirm this in your game on Steam.

- Step 7: Remove unwanted stuff installed by your emulator.

I received Apple's Bonjour service which was quickly removed in the Control Panel's Programs and Features.

- Step 8: Navigate to your appdata (via Windows key + r for example) to delete leftover folders from the aforementioned unwanted stuff to quench your paranoia.

Oh, you don't need the Shadowverse xapk file anymore either.

- Step 9: If you had to conduct some Google+ shenanigans and also decided to uninstall your Android emulator after this ordeal, find your lovely Google+ avatar and subsequently go to My Account -> Device activity & notifications -> Review Devices, click on the emulator, and mark it for removal.

- Step 10: Ignore this guide if the devs have made it obsolete.


In hindsight, I could have posted an actual guide for this, but it's such a fringe problem.

So basically what you're saying is that the device link mission will not complete if you try to link it to something that's not an emulator such as an Ipad or Iphone? Because I've tried that, and everything seems functional apart from the mission completing. I don't really understand why linking it normally doesn't work...?

You need to link a device and connect it with Facebook or Google Play to make it work(on the android emulator in this case).

It also works to link with Apple's game center.

Vous avez un onglet qui génère un code de Shadowverse via Steam, le jeu doit être lancé et se trouve dans le menu. Une fois votre émulateur prêt vous linkez le code généré sur celui-ci.

Je voit très bien l'onglet qui me demande d'entrer le code, pas celui qui le génère (si c'est le même alors il est bugger ou ne me le propose pas pour certaine raisons)

eh bien c'est le more que je voit pas x: (bon, mon steam a son menu ecrit en français, mais je sais traduire more)

donc soit j'ai un soucis, soit depuis le début je comprend mal de quoi on parle exactement.

Oh, c'est le menu du JEU une fois le tutorial terminé vous avez accès au menu de celui-ci avec l'onglet "More" tout à droite vers le bas. On parle bien du jeu pas de Steam hein ? Car j'ai un doute la xD. Si ce n'est pas le cas alors votre jeu doit se stopper a l'onglet "Shop", au cas ou et je dit bien au cas ou, vérifié l'aspect de votre écran, on sais jamais essayez d'agrandir la fenètre du jeu afin d'afficher éventuellement la partie manquante.
