if you're new then i'd say the best thing to do is the story mode to earn some rupees (in-game currency) for opening stuff after the new pack releases. you can also try tackling each of the elite ai if you want as all 23 of them give you 2 packs in rupees the first time you beat them but they can be pretty tough
Unranked in low levels tend to give a decent view of latter portions of the game since lots of players prefer to avoid ranking up(because deck variety becomes paper-thin after around rank B-ish, you really cant avoid tier-whoring in this game since even the dailies forces you to win)
The usual commendation for starters is to go for agro decks, both because this game hates control pretty much by design, and because agro tend to be cheaper(i would recomend to grind a bit before venturing too deep in story mode, first 8 chaps are easy but after that, the pc starts to cheat and use multi-class decks that can be infuriating if you dont have a decent deck to match it)
About aggro thing: aggro is good in SV beecause game design tend to it (20hp, new OP cards) but slower decks exist, they are rare and you cant get consistent wr with them, but some are playable though.
Sometimes they become meta tier1, like Cocytus dragon.
Where is blood? like ???
To climb fast on the ladder i advise to use current aggro blood wich is still t1, there are a lot of variations of the deck, be carefull)) Up to A-AA it is preferable to use aggro decks for swift passing through ladder in wich a lot of players tend to have low skill, some exceptions may occur
After AA it doesnt matter what type of deck u are using, because fun is more in priority + difference in wr is minimal.
Dragon has same problem, those classes have weak early - mid game play(i am talking about standart Ctrl C+V decks) and simply cant survive untill turn 8-9 properly. Also entering end (turn 8+) play =/= wictory
