Rotation now is not different. You can play it casually and enjoy the art, do some rerolling and look into decks. Know you'll probably be playing only meta decks for the current expansion otherwise you don't have a chance in higher rank. You'll see the same kind of decks in every ranked play so it's up to you if you want to play a brainless card game.
I only log in these days for rewards and some casual play with friends and we play take two. Besides take two there's not much this game has on offer compared to other card games, only the art is an exception.
Doesn't seem like it took long for this game to turn into an unbalanced game.
It is hard to play anything non meta stuff and there are too many one turn finishers, which work too well given the low health pool of 20 hp.
U can also have 3 busted legendarys per deck, which i think is stupid. Some legendarys are just too good with no downsides and no fun to play against, my favorite example would be demon general hector.
Sounds like the game is already on it's way to dying though basically the problems you're describing are the problems that end up causing all CCG's to die...it's called power creep, unbalanced cards and so on, etc.
I might just sit it out and start looking for the next big CCG or look into Elder Scrolls Legends possibly.
so with their focus on mobile players they focus on making games fast sp a lot of pc (steam) players leave a bad review on it
so give it a try its nowhere near dead and its still getting updated and have events and pretty nice to new players with all the free packs they give
theres very few legendarys that will live if they become 1 off namely the ones that are not wincon on their own and can be replaced easily (like aria for example)
but anyother legend even if busted wont be good as a one off (like daria) and hector was nerfed already he is not op anymore and shadow is not even in a good spot atm
if they limit all legends then we will end up with an aggro only format since they never counter on legends
Last expansion was the most balanced one this game ever had, if u have no clue what you're talking about stop spamming topics of new ppl with ur low rank nonsense.
Like hrooza said, the game as of now is not dead and it offers a lot of ressources for new players to get a good start.
You get 50 free packs just for doing the tutorial and daily log in rewards, 3 daily quests, starterquests which contain a lot of gold, rewards for storyquests and events happen every now and then too.
At the moment you can get a daily free pack from the newest expansion by playing against a new friend in your room. Addimg them from steam or asking for a quick match in the private match section is probably the best option to get it done, because you cant chat with people in your friend list, nor see if they are even online or if they want/ dont want to join your private match, this is pretty ♥♥♥♥.
But i can still recommend the game if you are new to it, because you can get started rather quick and try out different types of decks a lot quicker then in other online card games *hust* hearthstone *hust*
If you decide to do rankeds, dont try to climb early on. At some point you will get in the metadeck realm, which can be very frustrating to play against.
Its mostly about playing on curve and barely require any skill at all.
Also they never give support for actually interesting playstyles.
Havent played since end of Wonderland dreams and Im still mad to see that there is no support at all for my favorite meme deck discard dragon, and that its even more dead now thanks to best boy imperial dragoon rotated out.
1. people trolling or trying to be internet clever/one line review
2. people who pick up something for 5minutes and then put it back down, while claiming expertise
3. not the game's target audience (and card games are niche to begin with, let alone anime card game)
4. people who when you look at their game collection (if not the usual private profile) you just have to laugh and question their "critique" of any game in general
5. people who have an axe to grind and attention seek, while the actual players are mostly happy and quiet (and you know, playing the game)
The above is not a this/that thing either, it usually is a combo.
Good luck finding something that suits you!
The game is not dead ofc, there's tons of asians playing it.. somewhere out of Steam.
The game isn't perfect, and they did make huge mistakes in their design policy for something like a year by releasing absurdly strong win conditions. But all classes had one at some point.
But it's globally balanced, and forced Hearthstone to step up on tons of points because of how good it is. It's also REALLY free to play friendly, and surprisingly, not as whale friendly as Hearthstone for example. It's fun when you're good at the game, and tournament games are the most exciting game i ever had on a CCG.
People get salty, and it's just hard to get enthusiastic to play ranked when win streaks and lose streaks seem completely out of your hands.
yeah, that's how tournaments work
