Homecoming costs 7. Daria usually wins at 6. Even if you send them back, the massive face damage spells would destroy what is left of you.
You summed up exactly why Roach needs a nerf. The class relies too heavily on this card which just kills many other possibilities by itself.
ptp forest is still strong, and I think fares even better against daria thanks to it having more heals and wards. People just don't like it when they have to fight other control then turn 10 comes and bahamut wreck their supposedly "i win" board. Also odin is basically included in every control deck right now.
(irony)
Why irony, Dshift IS too strong
?
Dshift is actually more ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ than seraph even because it offers no counter play at all once activated. Not even wards help because rune can spellboost all their spells to free and just remove them since their pp gets refilled.
I dunno. Being able to thin your deck has often been a strong mechanic in nearly any card game. The fact it spefically targets X mana cost minion (2 mana in this case) just opens it up to more specific synergies than "Draw 1 card" wouldn't have. Such as tutoring for specific 2 drops.
I find it to be a fair enough card though. It allows for thinning and tutoring. While strong on paper, it restricts itself to 2 drop tutorings. Which then becomes fine. If its ever 'strong' its because of the quality of 2 drops that get 'printed'. Roach for example, is one of those extremes that should be looked at. Either made into a 1 or 3 drop due to its insane power. Or if we had a higher health total, such as 30, that would be a nerf to Roach.
So from what I've gathered, this game is suffering the same issue that hearthstone does. There are no effects that allow you to force the opponent to discard. Such an effect would be a sufficient counter to decks like D-Shift. Opens up SOME counterplay. Trying to rush D-Shift down isn't counter play afterall, that's just throwing a hail mary and praying it succeeds.
Cards like D-Shift, Roach, Daria, etc would certainly drop in strength if we had some discard options to counter stuff like that.
