What's a good joystick?

I got a AV8R joystick and it was good for a while but quickly became uncalibrated and unsatable even when recalibrated some. What are your guys recomendation for a long lasting and effective joystick for this and say.. IL-2?

My satiek X52 has worked for years. From IL-2 to FSX. So far minimal problems.

i have a logitech "attack 3" But I have problems setting up all the buttons. the game will not allow me to set them up.

biggles go to controls and double press and click the button you want then done :D

Got to agree with sithlord1969 on this - my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro has served me well for years. It's wired, so no messing about with batteries (which I take as a good thing), and it doesn't appear to have lost any sensitivity in all the time I've had it. There are more than enough buttons to be getting along with, and you can pick one up for anywhere between £10-£20. There are 3 in my household now - my brothers both have one, for Wings of Prey.

I use the Thrustmaster T.16000M with Facetracknoir. Its cheap and works great with this game.

Thrustmaster T.16000M. Very accurate joystick with a magnetic sensor instead of potentiometers which can go "dry" and cause movement skip. Haf one for a good 3 years or so. Not one problem with it. it's also able to be set up for left handed players.
