Saving!
The autosave doesn't save as often as it should, every time I close the game I lose a good couple of minutes of progress and as far as I'm aware there's no way of manually saving!

You can save manually by pressing space.

It also saves whenever you level up a skill or travel between towns, so you could always do that before closing the game.
