Stuck on Knife
I was on a perfect win record until I finally got up to Knife, and damn, is she hard. I thought it'd be easy, because I only had to create a single fire dish, but her dish is always so stacked.

I wonder how skilled players create their dishes.. On a good dish, I can manage scores in the 200s. Nowhere near 300.

I'm sure you'll beat her eventually! Usually a loadout change will help. If you've got the Fire Pot, consider using that and collecting only fire ingredients. Some of the easier Expertises can also be super effective at putting you over the top.
Good luck in there!

I'm guessing you're on hard mode, cause Knife is far and away an outlier in how hard she is.

The easiest way is with a combo of Fire Pot, Cutting Board and whatever other cookware you want.

Buy the Mastery-Quick (50 points in the first 1 minute), Jerky.

Use the Fire Pot and the Jerky and that'll get you 50 points in like 15 seconds. That'll give you an extra 75 points, which means you only need to hit a low to mid 200s to actually win.

I find it's best to just pick two colors (like Fire Pot and Earth Pot) and use the cutting board to wipe down every blue, bone and whatnot. Shouldn't be too hard to reach the target.

I went with combo pan, slow cooker, and crystal oven. Although looking back, I could probably have subbed in the cutting board for the pan.

My Strategy:
Start of the match, IMMEDIATELY go to the left and grab a tomato. You only need the one. Then pop that in the slow cooker. I also had the flower blossom and the ambrosia, meaning I only needed it in there for a little while to max out both gems. If you need to do anything special for masteries, handle it while the tomato is cooking up. (I had the mastery for having all three colors in a dish equipped, so I went and picked up some plant nectar to pop into the slow cooker)

Once the tomato is at two level 3 gems (with or without ambrosia), move it to the crystal oven and leave it to cook while you go kill the dragon.

For a strategy against the dragon... to start, bounce on his head. When he attacks, drop to the ground behind him and slash him a few times. As soon as he stops attacking, go back to head bouncing. You should be able to kill him no problem this way.

Then just get back, and do whatever you want with the dragon meat. Make sure you leave enough space for the cooked up tomatoes, as well as any other ingredients. My final dish using this strategy was worth 380 points, before the bonuses.

Also, don't be afraid to go collect some extra ingredients... you can keep them into the matches with spoon and fork

Love the strategies :) Nothing makes my designer brain happier than seeing folks discover the different cookware and ingredients!

Here is what I did.

For combat equip the bear carving and winged boots

For cooking equip lava pepper apprentice expertise butcher And tin of candy

For cookware equip ethereal flame pot cutting board and crystallizer oven.

As soon as the match begins throw the lava pepper in the oven and start cloning.

Immediately head out to the dragon and every time he goes for attack use your winged boots to jump all his attacks you can fly right over them.

After that kill the boars collect their meat and grab all the tomatoes you can.

At this point you should have about 5 Lvl 3 red gems in the oven. Be sure to work fast cause you need to get to work before the oven is halfway filled.

Use the ethereal pot to make as many high lvl red gems as possible and don’t forget to throw your dragon meat in.

If your full of gems that can’t be cloned such as green gems and bones and poisen go to the cutting board and get rid of them.

When the oven reaches the halfway point on red gems stop it from cooking immediately or it won’t fit.

Once you’ve framed as many high lvl red gems as you can poor what you have in the oven on to your main dish.

This will guarantee 400 points.

I'm relatively terrible at combat, so this is how I did it:

Combat: Weiz's photo, bear statue, cookie jar
Cooking: Vegetarian book, Using-all-the-parts-of-theme book, ziggy's red sauce
Cookware: Fancy combo pan, fire pan, crystallizer (clones taste gems)

When the match starts, get 2x sun tomatoes and 2x taka berries. Arrange in the fire pot with the blue/green gems in the middle and dump ziggy's sauce on it. You end up with 2x of the level 3 fire gems. Toss into the crystallizer to clone.

Then kill the dragon. Phew, glad I have that photo.

Combine one of each dragon parts, preferably using the poison to crack the bones and let them crumble for more space. Then go harvest things for the next rounds - at least 2x eggs and 2-3x king beans.

At the end, pour your level 3 gems over your dragon melange and serve. Sometimes I combine earlier and toss into the crystallizer to focus on harvesting ingredients for the next rounds since the bad plating penalty is small if it gets served out of the crystallizer.

It really reduces effort in later levels if you have the eggs and beans to toss into the crystallizer and clone for a while.

That dragon really is bane playing on hard.

You get caught in its combo once your dead.

The photo does come in handy but I can’t help but feel it wastes a whole slot so I prefer to use the winged boots to jump and dash over its long reach.

The wing boots also make moving about the stage quicker.

Does anyone know if stun daggers work on it.

I’m thinking of doing another hard playthrough investing in knive upgrades.
