Free Play?

Would be nice if there was a free play option where I could just go hunting, then bring back ingredients, then go cooking, just to relax and stuff, instead of having to worry about things like the silly story mode.

I mean, if you're going to have individual mini-game modes, that would seem like something you could easily just incorporate.

Actually, there is an option similiar to this! You have to progress past your first duel in Brigade Town. Once you've done that, you'll have access to the Practice Kitchen. The Practice Kitchen is an untimed free play sandbox as you described.

The problem with the Practice Kitchen is (A) you can't dispose of a dish after you've completed it, and (B) nobody judges what you're making.

Well, you can see the score below the dish itself...

I do think a free play mode could be pretty cool though. Plus, the practice kitchen is only one biome.

Seeing the score means nothing, since you're also judged on how balanced your dish is when you actually go into battle, as well as whether you used the core ingredient or not. The practice kitchen basically bypasses two huge aspects of game.

Plus, having to exit the practice kitchen and return every time I want to try starting a new dish is kind of annoying and inconvenient.

There is a trash can to the left of the Pantry that lets you dispose of unwanted dishes :)

I desperately hope that selectable biomes can be done. It would be great to be able to practice recpies for those hard battles later on. Perfect where to go, what to get, how to prep it. It is the big lacking for me as someone who isnt great at the puzzle part, if i could at least be ready.
