Moving a save from Twitch to Steam
Hello, is it possible to move a save file from the Twitch release to the Steam release?

I've tried copying my BCBConfig.ini, Global.save, Slot 1.save, and Slot 2.save files from the Twitch [BattleChefBrigade_Data] directory to the BCB's Steam Cloud folder as well as to the steamapps BCB folder, but neither seems to make my saves show up in Steam.

Any ideas, or is there some technical issue that will prevent this from working?

Thanks!

Steam and Twitch are entirely different platforms. You can't cross between them. It's like buying a movie on iTunes but wanting to watch it on Google Play. They're two different things.

If you want Battle Chef Brigade on Steam you need to get it on Steam or get a Steam code.

Hey @morrisseyshair, you've misunderstood my question. (I already own the game on both platforms, and the question was about moving a save file, not activating the game on another platform ^^;) Thanks for taking the time to try and help, though :)

I'm also curious about this. I'm not sure if Twitch supports cloud saves, so I want to backup my save on Steam for when I install it on another computer or reinstall it in the future.

You basically did what I would have done, so I'm not sure what else to do. Have you started a new game in Steam so that a cloud save file is created, then overwrite it with the Twitch save? Maybe the Steam cloud is overwriting the file if you don't already have a save game registered on there.

Anyway, if anybody figures out how to do this, please post it in here!

This is actually what I ended up doing, and for whatever reason that worked just fine :)

After starting a new game on Steam, I played through the into, let the game create a BCBConfig.ini, Global.save, and Slot 1.save (in the steam cloud directory). Then I replace the Slot 1.save with my existing Slot 1.save (and Slot 2.save), leaving the other two files alone.

Hope that helps!

Hey thanks! It took me a little while and a bit of Googling to figure out where the Steam cloud directory was, but it looks like I got my save working on the Steam version. Thanks for checking back in and sharing =)
