♥♥♥♥ this game's name. Seriously.
Come on guys, you have to realise what a silly title that is for a game.

It's a Japanese fighting game, what did you expect.

Street Fighter - about people who fight in the street
King of Fighters - about a competition to be the best fighter
Tekken - About a fighting tournament.
Dead or Alive - about being dead or alive and seeing nubile tits
UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH Exe:Late - about... things.

I clearly need more zippers and belts to understand this game.
You're forgetting AQUAPAZZA, BLAZBLUE CHRONOPHANTASMA EXTEND, MELTY BLOOD ACTRESS AGAIN CURRENT CODE...

I'd beg to adjust that statement lol, Arc System Works is the only Japanese company that makes fighting games with unusual titles. Guilty Gear, Blazblue, Melty Blood to name a few.

But their art direction is always solid.

Hello just one question do you play a game for itself or you play it just for the title name?
so dont pay attention to its name just play it for itself thats all

Main theme of the plot: Hollow Night.
Characters in this game are called In-Births.
A subtitle is "They gather under this night".

Exe:Late idk
maybe a failed wordplay on Accelate (Accelerate).

Yeah, except MB and UNIB are by French-Bread. And yes, UNIB, because the initial title was "Under-Night In-Birth", just like "BlazBlue", "Guilty Gear" and "Melty Blood". All of the title elements are usually plot-related, so it makes sense.
Not to mention that there is "Super Street Fighter IV : Arcade Edition", which is also a long name imho, so you can't really bring that argument up anyways.

Yep, that's the behaviour to have. As long as the game's good, the name doesn't matter much (it still matters, but at least, it's only the name)...

Who cares.

I was just kidding. But I always wonder why all games published by ASW need to shy away so much from conventions, like the things announced before the round starts:
- Round 1, FIGHT!
- yeah makes sense
- Heaven or Hell, duel 1, LET'S ROCK!
- a little overblown but still ok
- The wheel of fate is turning, rebel 1, ACTION!
- rebel?! what does that even me-
- 1ST CLAUSE, DIVIDE!!!
- STAHP IT

Lord, here we go with these kinds of topics again. ♥♥♥♥, if you've never played any games made by French-Bread, of course this would seem weird to ya. Been loving their games and their weird names since the days when French-Bread was known as "Watanabe Seisakusyo".

As long as the games are good, should you even care about the name? Props to Rowanism for the break down on the title.

Presentation is everything, whether it is fair or not people judge based on names, box art, and all that jazz before even looking into gameplay. Honestly, I saw the title and thought it said Under Light Unbirth and well, I thought Steam was really getting lax on game types :S.

* Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel
* Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
* Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy
* De:Vadasy (not a videogame, but screw it)
* Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger VS Darkdeath Evilman (I'm dead serious)
* Touhou Seirensen ~ Undefined Fantastic Object (sounds more like a guideline to creating a pretentious videogame name, doesn't it?)
