Why is Akatsuki here?

obv im all for guest characters from obscure games. if any of you are unaware, akatsuki hails from akatsuki blitzkampf

but what warrants his presence in under night inbirth? akatsuki blitzkampf is made by SUBTLE STYLE, and i cant find and evidence of them really having a hand in unib aside from the inclusion of akatsuki (they did all of his sprites, apparently). do FRENCH-BREAD and SUBTLE STYLE have some connection that i cant dig up [in 5 minutes of research], or was it really just like "youre ok, get in!"? im legitimately curious

My theory is that subtle style needs a bunch of money to fund a perfektewelt console/PC port. The real reason is probably that the devs are real life friends with subtle style, they both started out as doujinsoft circles and then had mainstream success with arcade ports & sequels to their games.

No. Pity, but possibity of any port is very low. Subtle Style have some issues with their arcade publisher.

Let's just hope ArcSys will help making this happen then (especially if they're in good terms with French-Bread, who probably are in good terms with Subtle Style).

Or they could just continue adding guest characters from their series, which is more likely to happen than the other stuff. Of course their stories would be only jokes and add nothing to UNIB's canon one. But you'd have more fighters to play with. I still remember the joke fan-art of Filia from Skullgirls.

I wish they added a proper Story mode like the blazblue games aside from the arcade one where we get to know more about the origins of all the organizations and their leaders and the nature of EXS.

Subtle Style and Furapan are just really friendly doujin soft devs. They have been for many years.

Simple as that.

There's a German Interview ( http://www.hardedge.org/2013/07/exklusives-interview-mit-subtle-style/ ) with one of the two main guys behind Akatsuki (Subtle from Subtle Style) saying he is currently working at French Bread.

Probably because they're friend through Comiket or something, since they're both doujin game developers and their game was released at Comiket.
