I tried the void dungeon but I got stuck around level 20 before the AI started having lot of big epics and dragons.
Here's what my deck looks like: https://i.imgur.com/VB4u8s4.jpg
I get like 1 epic every 100 card drops, its not too bad, you reach 10k gold pretty quick
Rares really suck in this game. You could keep some upgraded rare from event and use it until you get something better, eventually Earth Elemental could be worth upgrading, but not necessarily fusing.
It's better to see what BGEs (Battleground Effects) are active and use quad fusion commons, then slowly start migrating on epics.
Some other good commons that are worth upgrading and fusing: Moss Golem, Wisp, Fire Spirit.
Problem with rare is that if you play actively, you start getting epics really quickly. 2-3 weeks and you are like all epics+some legendaries. They are much, much better than rares, but only commons give back all dust you used up for upgrading - vaporizing rare, epics and legs will only give you back part of the dust.
So, if you are going to upgrade rares, just to vape them some days later and lose much of dust, it's just not worth =)
Better to focus on upgrading and fusing commons, especially these useful ones, then you slowly start migrating on standard and reward epics.
And you can click on the chest to see what you are getting.
And IMO Glass Colossus and Rock Titan are excellent.
I think that will give you enough epics to farm dusts for. If you can't even get those (undeads are nasty now), I think Earth elemental has been the best rare for me. Although it will become completely useless once your enemies have plenty of pierce or bolts. But I wouldn't even have gotten there without my "Earthies".
Clearly my style is heavily biased towards heavy tanks upfront to give squishies at the back time to set up.
Fire Imp becomes 0 delay when quad-fused and it the only card I know that reduces delay.
but you just gota hope you get some good epics later
