Another update. If you get an NETWORK ERROR. It might be because the server name has been taken, there can't be two of the same Server Name. Default is FSW so just change it. It isn't important to be anything specific.

I'm actually sill getting the NETWORK ERROR even after I tried to change the server names 5 times. I was trying to host a coop session.

Sorry. I wasn't hosting for about two days. I'll be hosting again. The reason for not hosting, is that I am researching. and trying to find better solutions to the server browser problem.
I want the experience to be nice and easy to use.

Try again now. I have reopened the server.
Remember that you have to connect using IP, since the server browser does not work (yet).

Okay, I'll have to try again this weekend.

Your not hosting again? or is something wrong?

Is the server your hosting still up and running?

I am currently getting a dedicated server up in Amsterdam. I am planning on it being up 24/7 running with the RetroSpy project. So stay tuned! :)

I just now got the dedicated server up and running. DNS is not setup just yet, so you must edit the host file :)
Server browser does not work yet, and when making a game try to have a different name than FSW, having the same server name will freeze the game forcing you to use task manager.
You need to use the Join IP method. The host may need to be exposed, or have certain ports opened, not sure though but just a head up!
Remember to use the public IP to join, Idk if local IPs work if using the same router, that is not tested yet.

Here is what to add at the end of the "c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" file:

Now enjoy playing FSW online again! :) This should be running 24/7, and it is using the RetroSpy project https://github.com/GameProgressive/RetroSpyServer The server is running with the develop branch. I may update it sometimes, then the servers need to restart, but I will try to do that only if absolutely nessasary.

Have fun, thanks for the patience :D

Update! It does work locally with this method. Use the local IP of the computer you want to join on the same network. Otherwise use the public IP. If it does not work to connect, the host needs to port forward or be exposed host. I think this is the port that needs to be open for the host! 27901

Server browser I still didn't get to see if it works, even though it seems to respond correctly on my server. But maybe that only work online with and exposed host, and an exposed joiner. Further testing needed, but Join IP and hosting a game works 100% with all features!

Enjoy FSW again :)
