If you can't get it working with the free version then you'll have the same problem with the Steam version unless you opt for the beta media foundation version.
I would suggest get it working with the free version and I suspect that it is due to you not have the codecs installed to work with Whirligig. I've done a tutorial to help you install them, here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lK-52yfGKg4
Once they are installed you should be able to play the videos.
Hopefully that works and that you consider the Steam version as well. It has more options and more development going into it at the moment.
All the best
Phil
This does help with the requests for video seperation question as it does hurt to look at and changing the stereo separation will probably help that.
I think that Naught America has there own player which means they might have a bespoke projection map for their cameras which would be difficult to replicate in an external player without more information.
It's probably best to use their player if you can :)
player in their vr oculus support page. ;) Yours is the only player I've found to date that displays their weird amazon woman format correctly.
I just tried with the barrel SbS FOV 180 after reading this, it actually gives better results than the fisheye, especially when the original video format is squarry ( fisheyes is better for round videos imo).
Thanks for the advice.
for videos before 4/8/16, it said dome sbs, tilt 90, fov 180, radius 9. after that date, barrel stereo sbs, tilt 18, fov 180, radius 9.
i misread it when i originally saw it so i was just changing the tilt and didnt make sense to me. will try dome v barrel next time.
naughty reccomends settings for each of their videos when you go grab them, in general didnt see anything different then fisheye sbs, tilt 90, fov 180, radius 9 but as someone mentioned, there are points where its too close. i had been altering radius for that but fov probably better
