fishing - noob question

Hi guys
I just started playing this game, and have a question in relation to fishing..
I'm on the first dungeon (iron stronghold or something like that), and there are fishing ponds everywhere..

I'm still not sure what I can use them for, but I'm somewhat of a completionist so I'm doing them all.. But I have to say that they really slow the pace down by.. alot..

So my question is; Can these ponds be done over and over again? Or "should" I do them whenever I see them?

I'd recommend catching all fish in every pond you see. Later in the game you give them to a Fish Monger who'll give you coins to spend at the Curator. Doing so allows you to buy a lot of the books that increase Perk Points (some of the books can be bought over and over again), and ends up becoming the main source of powering up your characters as you'll get more points this way each play-through than you do from leveling.

you can also fish at the fish mongers ponds, no difference in fish. So you dont need to do it in Dungeons.

It's mostly for completion sake, and sure, feel free to do every Pond you encounter.

However, there is no Pond in the game that has super exquisite fish that are not encounterable anywhere else. In fact, there is that one location with nothing in it but 3 separate fishing spots (which unlock progressively as you go through the game) and one shop keeper there.

The very last fishing pond there has literally all the fish in the game, so in that sense you don't have to feel obligated to check out every single fishing spot, as you will eventually have access to all fish in that location anyway.

what he said. I completed the Fishiary achievement there, actually got the 2 rare fishes i needed in the same pond.
