Is difficulty spike an issue?
Lot of good reviews; but the top review is negative though it likes a lot about the game.

Are these issues?

"The major problem with Battle Chasers is progression and grinding. Up to level 12/13 everything works just fine. You get levels, better loot, new skills, all is fine and well and you are having a good time. Then... there is a sudden difficulty spike, where the next dungeon and most of the enemies are 2 or 3 levels above you and can pretty much one-shot your characters...

The Final Boss is unkillable without Legendary Weapons (if you can even beat the boss with that). I saw myself grinding for countless hours because enemys where 2-3 Levels above me and nearly one shot my Team members with their attacks. Like wtf?! "

I wouldn't care much about that review.

Was done after what, 24 hours of gameplay. They claim to be a "huge JRPG" fan, list Tales of Games twice (lol).

Probably wrote that review in frustration. To add anyone who claims to be a jrpg fan knows you're going to put in over 40hrs into the game (if you're not rushing)
Any JRPG fan knows there is some grinding involved depending on how the game is designed.

But yeah, I wouldn't care much of it. I even remember Cohhcarnage saying the game was quite easy to him when he streamed it. Either way. It's a jrpg, turn-based style game. If that's you're thing I would go for it. Especially when it's on sale. EZPZ

but I did everything the game has to offer (except bestiary, which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) in 30 hours?
and I did not rush, and I love jrpgs? not even sure why anyone would depict this game as a jrpg in the first place, but what do I know about genres.

intersubjectivity aside... fantastic game, reviews can go ♥♥♥♥ off.

great game and the difficulty does spike with each dungeon but not by a insane amount. just do a little bit of grinding. a very little bit of grinding like 30 minutes to an hour.

Well I for example just hit quite the spike, or I missed something. Till now it wasn't that much, some grinding in between the next dungeons, but now I get 1 hittet by some of the things.

Did we play the same game? I did all heroic dungeons, no grinding or dungeon reruns and bumped the last 2 dungeons to legendary because the previous dungeon prior to my legendary increase was too easy on heroic. Maybe playing on heroic made me overlvled, dont know for sure. But the game got easier the further i got, not the other way around.

I had some bumps in the road, but did fine. I think it's a question of party build, and whether you farm materials for that lazy weapon & armor crafting system. If you go through the game thinking you'll be fine with the gear you pick up, you're in for a bumpy ride.

I had some trouble late-game, but I respecced to have a tank that did tank things and that helped me out quite a bit. I get the feeling that the person complaining about the final boss just ran in expecting to win, instead of getting solid gear together and tweaking their party.

People actually complain about it being possible to basically one-shot the final boss with Garrison.

The final boss doesn't need legendary weapons to beat. You need highest tier weapons though, on all of your toons, and forget tanking, just end the boss in 5 turns before he ends you. Bring Garrison and Red Monika, 3rd person can be Calibretto or Alumon or Knolan, or Gully if you know how to spec her into damage.

I'm pretty sure the first time I fought the final boss, I used Calibretto, Garrison and Gully. I was shocked by the boss' cheap moves, thought it was going to be a difficult battle. (Only Gully had legendary gloves, everyone else just top-tier weapons/armors.) But Garrison cleaved through the boss with the full-stack overhead slash (forgot its name). Did it twice. Garrison died before he got his second hit out, I rezzed him and tried again.

In Hard mode, I made sure all my toons had legendary weapons, I killed the final boss several times. If I used Gully, I made sure to use her skill that does damage to the target based on its current hp, then let either Garrison or Monika take out the rest.

Unless the difficulty has been changed since the last time I played it... The final boss is surprisingly easy to beat, unless you got real bad luck and your main damage dealer keeps getting killed before he/she got to do anything. That's the reason why I bring Garrison and Monika; if either one dies, the other can finish the job.

I've never used Garrison/Monika/Gully though. No one to use rezz skill. I can pop a rezz potion but ... I'm kinda lazy.
