What is KS exclusive?

I really hate it when games have exclusive content that can't be acquired after Kickstarter. So what is locked in this game? How do the alternate portraits look like and what's in the Explorer's pack? Also why is the manual a KS exclusive? Makes no sense.

I have extra portraits and something called 'chaoseater' (besides the comic/wallpaper obviously).
I don't see manual there so I don't think that's a KS exclusive thing.

From the description you get to craft it 'on multiple levels' so they at least dodged the age-old problem of exclusive gear - you grow out them in 10 minutes into the game.

I think what Lord_WC meant is backers can craft it as the game progresses to keep the sword relevant and not under powered not that everyone is going to get it.

dude without kickstarter backers, the game would simply not be... so it's pretty normal that those guys get special things, and by the looks of it, it's just some portraits and cosmetic things, not like they have an exclusive playable charater or something...

supporting the game itself should be the ks reward

I checked the kickstarter stuff given, and somehow missed that there was a unique sword offered. Did not really see incentive beyond beta/alpha availability. Would have backed up if I would have properly seen it :p

Early Access is a different business model than how Kickstarter works.

So? just because they can doesn't mean they should. Getting your game on steam early access costs money btw, it's not free. Kickstarter gets a cut too, difference is, they get it after a the project was succesful whereas on steam you have to pay in advance.

Plus, people gave money without knowing if the game would even be made. Somehow you, who just found out deserve the same as people whoo gave the money 2 years ago with no real guarantees? Please. Either you're a moron, you don't understand how the market works or you're a kid. Pick one. And you seem to forget most people payed more than you are paying right now. I myself payed 40 bucks, others have payed from 30 to 400 hundred.

I don't see anything wrong with KS exclusives. They footed the bill so the company could make the game. If it wasn't for the backers, the game wouldn't be here. So the idea of giving them something extra for their early support is perfectly fair. Cosmetic goodies, titles, stuff in game that doesn't give them anything more than a short term advantage is perfectly fine.

The money put into the KS was probably enough to get the game launched, but they still need to make a profit (not to mention pay the bills while they're supporting and patching the game). So they can make MORE games. Ergo ... you and me Buying the game.
