- They are in a ship crew on very long travels with little spare time to stay in the station. Make sure your autopilots have increased stay time in your home station if this is the case, or avoid long travels until you have faster ships and more experienced navigators.
- Remember to build tables (Canteen tables for example), officers will refuse to eat unless free tables are available.
- Maybe you toggled the combat mode and forgot do disable it (default key is "C", its button is the crossed swords in the lower right area of the screen). As long as combat mode is enabled, officers in your squad will refuse to do anything but look for targets and fight them. They will ignore their needs and all jobs.
this happends all the time for me as people will want to do somthing like drink or take a shower but then wont do it and there mind will go down and they will start sabotaging things and i always have open places and a excess amount of soap food water beds anything but they refuse to do it
just as a tip i would reccomend a feature where you can force a spatial to do somthing like eat or shower
You upgraded your spatials to 2nd level from redshirt. In your example, you upgraded her to the 'scientist' speciality but when you do that, you need to give each of them an assigned room with at least 4 or 5 tiles large with an officer bed and the spatial OWNING the officer bed. That will make him/her own the room and automatically all the objects in it.
You never did that, so that's why you see she has a x30 non compensation. As soon as they upgrade from redshirt, they need their own room and at lvl 3 it's a 15 tiles room with lots of decorations. So yeah, they take a lot more space. And also that's why you don't upgrade ALL your redshirts. Keep quite a few around for basic tasks, like making food, soap and the like.
