local multiplayer / split screen?!

I'm thinking about getting this to play it locally on one screen with my little nephews. Does the game support local multiplayer via split screen?

No reply after 2.5 weeks? I guess the game is pretty much dead... too bad.

Anyways, for anyone interested, I found out on reddit that this game does not have split screen... which is a shame. A game like this without split screen?

In a press release from October 2014 they were saying "One of the team’s main ambitions is to bring back 'real social gaming' with 4 player split-screen as well as network multiplayer gaming. The team know from first-hand experience, there's nothing better than gaming with friends you're sat right next to! There’s going to be plenty of witty banter, dead-arms and hopefully not so many insults about your parentage!".
...never actually bringing split screen but instead moving on to telling people they should buy DLCs to maybe perhaps possibly get split screen mode... nah... I guess not.

The devs denying the chance to make a great lokal multiplayer racer which you can enjoy with your friends makes me just sad.

This just in! Grip came out on ps4 and supports 4 player split screen.

TTR has local multiplayer. I can play through LAN connection.

That's not what 'local multiplayer' means. Ever heard of split screen? That's what local multiplayer is referring to and what they advertised but the game doesn't have.
