After playing more of this game-

Please tell me only if these questions do not get answered in the game. I have not deciphered the tablets of the Ghost Palace yet.

Did Moth and Butterfly spit up again at the end of Ghostly Mystery? Why is Butterfly going to the depths, particularly since her character page shows they are very focused on goals?

Besides believing that pain outmeasures joy, did darking also start the Revolution of Logic as an alternative to letting the Possessor kill everybody? Also, how did Darking find... Darqueen ... in the ruins of the City of Light? Or was that the afterlife, since Darkings bady was cut apart then torn between universes?

Do we ever get answers as to what the possessor and the older being, and other old creatures, are doing? Those two got their mission objectives from SOMEWHERE.
-Mostly to be answered in Season Two ... Lots of hints in Freepy Castle, Depth, and Final Fist.

Is this story finished? I heard the fifth quest is the end of the first "season" wrapping all this up--- does this mean that the developer might update the game, or does that mean he is thinking of a sequel?

Nope, they didn't split up. The credits from Scenario 5 confirms that. I am not sure how clear it is, but the Depth scenario takes place centuries in the past, and the Butterfly in the Depth is not the same as Butterfly from Ghostly Mystery. The Possessor hints at this in the second scenario (which is made clearer after the most recent update). The ending to the Depth scenario will help answer your question.

I don't know whether or not Darking is aware of the Possessor. I am pretty sure Darking passed away after the first scenario and met Ori in the afterlife.

There are hints throughout all of the scenarios, I think scenarios 4 and 5 especially help shed some light onto that. A mural in the Inverted Pyramind level of the Depth scenario and playing as Luvaci in Freepy Castle can give some insight as well.

I'm not entirely sure. Season 2 might be included in a future update. The developer announced on Tumblr a couple months ago that an upcoming scenario will feature Bee.

Why did Butterfly went into the Depths? Since you do not seem to have finished the Depths, I suggest doing that first to have a better grasp on the storyline. Also, the Depths have a great ending.
Since you finished Due Exaltation, I can tell you a bit more about Possessor. That being said, you should really get the info from the Tablets.
Anyway, the Architects are behind the Possessor. Possessor works for the Architects which purpose is to find the meaning (the meaning of life maybe?) For that purpose they are willing to let Possessor... do his thing and one Architect fight Ant Queen for interferring. The mysterious entity is related to the Architect, it might be one of them but according to Possessor, it went rogue.

As for the story being finished, I don't think so, if even only because not all scenarios announce on the kickstarter page were done. That being said, all of the current scenarios make a whole with the Final Fist being out. There are some "holes" in the story that could be filled like stuff related to the context of the Depths, Monsoon and the Architects but that stuff could be covered with the last few missing scenarios and in the worst case scenario, even the game story as it is is relatively whole.

That being said, if you want to know the whole story, make sure to finish the Depths and play Freepy Castle with Luvaci (especially Luvaci), Ant Queen and Slugger.
To a lesser extend, play the Free Depths, there isn't much new story elements there but the different stuff there is important to get the whole picture.
Also, scenario 2C with Ant Queen although it's mostly minor.

It is implied, or can be inferred, that the City of Light - AKA the "Creepy Castle" - was built on top of the Underground City/Pyramid/etc. - AKA the "Depths". That mural Mozen paints in Scenario 3's ending can be seen in the Museum/Gallery in Scenario 1.

When I wrote this I had only completed scenarios 1, 2, 2B, and had only dabbled in 3 and 5. Now I've gotten all of the collectable text in the game, finished the final fist, and am wishing I had saved Nugget 42 to help with Dopplebugger. Also, I am replaying Freepy Castle to see if the ending changes now that I'm done with 5B.

More of my questions are answered now, and now I understand that the story is not finished, so I am excited for season two!
