Managing Cities

Still at the start of this game. Would anyone who's gone through it be cool wigh some tips. I'm maining wondering how often I should switch between cities and the best way to balance managing them.

short version:
e.g. what weapons are good etc:
- Basic: 1. Missiles (especially linked x3!) 2.Guns (ok, single shooter where you cant link up) 3. Minigun (rather bad)
- "Assist": Laser
- happiness can be upped through events (Park etc.), so only do non-mission fights for crystals or rewards
- upgrading weapons: usually you don't need more than 5-7 fortifications until lategame
- modifications are best used on housing (1500 vs 500 extra resident space)
- basic barriers are good enough if you have enough firepower
- keep happiness above 50% (all cities)
- push through the story missions if you can,later you can restore quarantained sectors, restoring your cities to their full glory (mission 18) afaik
