(I dont want much graphic fines , reflections and realtime shadows , i still wait for new Descent game with much more designed levels with old playstile ...)
So too dark is probably more the problem, but without dark areas making exploration trickier, no good secrets design and that's a huge change.
For me Overload:
- Much better graphics (lol ok)
- Many secrets and well designed with great hints design, nothing noteworthy for Descent or quite rare or too hidden with bad hints design.
- Much better controls with a ton more possibilities.
- Even if there's still many corridors, Overload achieves well to break this awful feeling that was producing Descent, a maze of corridors.
EDIT:
About dark, there's a torch and flares, the torch is quite powerful but consumes power regularly, when power is at zero the torch continue works but then weapons using energy have very slow fire rate. I didn't noticed in demo, only in full game, perhaps it's not in demo.
