Although i understand the frustration of losing them, i was actually rather unimpressed by the cauldron prizes and humbly ask you to not stop playing the game because of that.
I 100% agree. Please do NOT make the change requested in the OP. In fact I am losing interest in the game precisely BECAUSE dying has no consequence, and would strongly suggest that you lose EVERYTHING in the cauldron when you die!!! It is meant to be a high risk / high reward feature after all. The player must CHOOSE whether to empty it or be greedy and hang on a bit longer to save gold. This is a great feature in the game.
OP made the mistake of allowing the cauldron to build up 6 hours worth of content. That is a completely stupid way to play. Or put another way it is EXTREMELY high risk, with associated high reward. In this case it back-fired. And that is how it should (occasioanlly) be.
This I can agree with. A Monster the player cannot see should not be able to do anything.
That should do the trick for those who seek a thrill :-)
And I agree on offscreen casters. We will tinker with params to make them cast closer to the player.
