However if you are just interested in playing it and being done, the "campaign" takes about 6-9 hours depending on how you play. The game seems easy at first, but thats just because it has a very forgiving learning curve. by the time you hit massacre mode the screen can be full of enemies in seconds.
Overall, Id say its worth it. At worst you play it for just over 2 hours and cant get the steam refund, thats like 3 hours worth of work. However if you enjoy Hack and slash and old schoolish games and murdering things and upgrades I imagine you will get more out of it than just the 6-9 hours for the campaign :)
(ps sorry for the ramble, too much caffeine tonight)
He was asking about the length of the demo the game has now, not the core game =p
Unfortunately, I picked it up before I finished the demo so I'm not sure myself.
I think its worth it. at the very least, play for an hour and a half and then decide if you like it. if not get the steam refund.
And yes now I am wondering whether I will buy it before the release or not.
Hopefully it could help people on the fence decide which side to come down on.
We appreciate your weakness :-) actually we were a team of 6 for the most of the production. But we outsourced what we could. Still it took 3 years. However, during that time we prototyped more designs so it was not only Book of Demons we worked on but the whole series.
By the way, if you enjoy the game please consider writing a review. It helps spreading the awareness of the game :-)
then i saw this early access game has a demo, then i suddenly thought, now that must be a brave dev, i like such bravery so, it's rare but can be awesome. I was right! after breezing through the Demo, and of course filling out the nice survey after that (i like those, respect points for it!).
i instabuy'd the Game.
It somehow didn't feel like an Early access to me, also no issues occured so far, and because this Game is so small it's installed on my Ramdisk(don't worry it's safe)
Thanks! But in our case it's more confidence than bravery. We knew players like the game and we know it's pretty complete even with only one class. At the same time players avoid ea titles so we decided to go all in and try demo. Glad it worked for you. Enjoy the game
And ramdisk should work well. We load critical resources to ram anyway :-)
