+1 stat scrolls.
So I noticed after x amount of time, these just stopped dropping what so ever on my warrior that is now deep in free play. They stopped dropping way before I unlocked free play actually.

What I am wondering is, if anyone knows what caps these as no longer being in the spawn pool?

Like if I dont spend my level up points for a very long time keeping my hp and mp much lower vs time played. If I can get my stats up via these things, then spend my points to have a boosted char type of concept.

It would just depend on what triggers this removal from being dropped.

If its char level it self, this prob wont work. Or if its tracking how many of the scrolls were dropped to.

But if its based on what your current max value is, it might work.

But even if this does work as a trick, during the process you would be sevearly handycapping yourself during the process making even the easiest diff a challenge im thinking.

Hearts and Mana are capped at 100 (+Hp/Mana from magic card stats not included). Can you recall what amount of Hp/Mana your character might had then?

There was also a bug that prevented scrolls from dropping awhile back (around the December), can you also tell me when you started playing the game?

I started playing only a few weeks ago.

I am certain I have NEVER seed a mana or health scroll, what so ever in any of my freeplay games, and cant say how far in the main game it was, but it felt like quite a long time, cause when opening the book shelves, till the butcher, i almost 100% of the time, got one or the other from those, but in the lava area and on all my free plays, those book shelves have only ever dropped runes or un identified cards, or new cards not in my deck yet.

I had to go as many floors in freeplay on the flexi scope depth tracker as a depth lengh of freeplay way longer than the campains depth size before I finally got my 40th card.

This is including doing all 3 levels of the butcher again, and the 1st 2 of the 2nd boss as well.

I can re load that game to find out the stat totals of the char, but last few days, ive been re doing a warrior, and right now im 2 floors away from the 2nd boss. and I have yet to spend a level up point or use the cauldren. i have 2 golden and 1 silver treasure in it. LOL.

this little test earned me an achievement, killing butcher without using the cauldren an having a gold trinket in the cauldren on killin him lol.

But i can tell you, my warrior in freeplay on casual setting.

needs the legendary armor lv 3, skeleton belt lv3, and shield lv3, and healing ring lv3, just to keep myself from having to get smited on a level of damage like its from god.

thats why i had the other threads about how the 9 card slots are very hard to try and do combo damage.

even with that gear, when fighting mobs that summon or many with ranged mangic, or tons of poision, i go threw like 10 healing potions in a min or 2, on top of all the hearts droping on the map i need to pick up.

So maybe my stats are low from that?

Heh, you will see my 2 stat totals in the 2 vids im uploading now for the other thread.
mana and health are both capped at 91, super deep in freeplay. char since the video is at least 4x as far in freeplay same max stats.

I just recorded a session on video of me killing the anti-pope without having ever used the cauldren, and without having spent a single level up point. heh.
My health is 40, and mana is 36, in this state right now.
3 gold and 2 silver chests is getting hard to nto wanna cash in tho. but i think there may be an achievement if i can beat the rubber duckie without claiming it. heh.

So if I understand you right, the max you can have for stats is 100, unless a card you equip says +health type of thing?

So if i was to get 100 health from not spending level up points first, spending them would not give me health?

so, I have 50 health and 50 mana now, without spending a skill point yet.

Havent gotten a single additional one in a really long time. so its prob the max im guessing.

I'm sorry for messing it a bit. Capping HP and Mana at 100 applies to Casual and Normal only. Not so long ago we introduced also Roguelike mode which uses a bit different set of rules and from what you wrote I assume you play in Roguelike.

In Roguelike you can get from ~60- ~90 points in each stat total and that will vary per playthrough, because scrolls aren't a guaranteed drop (as it is in Casual/Normal). Instead some of them have a chance to drop.

So if i was to get 100 health from not spending level up points first, spending them would not give me health?
It's simply not possible to get 100 from scrolls only, saving level up points for later won't result in any profit. Equations under the hood will do their magic :archduck:

ya i am doing this in causal.
and my main char is also in casual.

my main guy now has 96hp and 97mp at level 45 i think, mabye 1 or 2 levels higher or lower.

I know when i said i was 91 91 my char was level 41 at that time.

In my 2nd play not spending level up points at all. by the time i went in about 15 floors without seeing a single +1 of either drop, i was at 50 50.

after unlocking freeplay, i did get +1 mana scroll from the cauldren making me 50 51 tho, i was level 27 at this point.

Thanks for clarification :-) This sounds suspiciously indeed... Could you send me your savegame? Here is how to find it:
  • On Windows: press Win+R, enter path %appdata%\Return2Games_WIP21 and press enter
  • On Mac: press Command + Shift + G, enter path ~/Library/Application
    Support/Return2Games_WIP21/ and press enter
  • you will see a folder named after your steam ID
  • pack it with anything (zip, 7z, rar)
  • Finally please email it to support@thingtrunk.com and link this thread in the email

Hi!
So, is there a limited pool of scrolls per character and do they drop till this pool is empty? Are there equal number of health and mana scrolls? Do the scrolls I get depend on anything (class/level up point distribution/etc)? I am asking because I am a 24lvl Rogue and I invested in mana only - without using the caudron; nevertheless, I have more health than mana :)
Wiedźma Danaien  [developer] Dec 3, 2019 @ 2:32am
The shortest answer is: depends - mostly on the mode you are playing in. Yes, there is a limited pool of mana and health scrolls, which is even more limited on Roguelike.

As I mentioned earlier, on Normal there is a cap set on 100 for points in each mana and hearts stats. Part of these 100 points are scrolls the other part are points you choose after each level up (40 per stat + base, depends on class you play). Points you do not chose on level up go to Caulrdon, and that's their source for the other stat.

On Roguelike the thing gets complicated. You get less scrolls and the points you did not choose on lvl up do not go to the Cauldron. Instead, you will have a chance to drop them as a scroll. No two Roguelikes are the same in term of hp/mana stats.

In addition, you can always increase the hp/mana by equiping magical variants ("of Wolf" and "of Raven") - maybe that's the case?

This is not mentioned in the Tutorial #16. Please consider an amendment so that new players avoid the confusion some of us had :).

Therefore, if a hero found all the scrolls, collecting Cauldron prizes might allow to collect some scrolls again, does it?
