Book of Demons

How long?
Gameplay wise. Is it rogue-like? Is there anyreplay value (if any) ?

175 steam achievements tells me that I could be busy quite a long time with this game, but I would like to verify it a bit...

Hi!

The story mode is 5-7 hours long with each class (right now there are two out of three classes in the game, so completing story mode with both takes 10-15 hours), depending on your playstyle.

After that, there is the freeplay mode which is endless and in which you can find remaining cards and level up all the cards you have (and with the next update there will be lots of card variants to be found and replay value will be much higher).

Or you can try to beat the game in Daredevil mode (permadeath, forces highest difficulty and how deep you managed to get into online leaderboards).

And we will probably add more achievements sometime soon since we are already reworking card system.

At endless mode - are there some procedurally generatyed loot/monsters/bosses etc. ?
Is there any point keep playing once al lcards are leveled up to max ?

In Daredevil mode you can play for online leaderboards records: http://steamcommunity.com/stats/449960/leaderboards/1480822/

Currently, the cards are somewhat "fixed", so once you get them all and level them, there's no permanent progression anymore (since you'll already be at max level on your character).

There'll be more stuff later: card system will be revamped, a mastery system using keys of some sort, etc.

There are way more bosses in the game than you will encounter in the story mode. If you want to see how the game plays you can always check out the demo, it lets you play until the first quest boss :-)

Thanks for answer, i did watched some QuickPlays and LetsPlays already. Now I'm really wandering - at the title menu there are a lot of empty pedestals. On one of them rests Book of Demons. What are other pedestals for ? For upcoming expansions/DLCs ? That would be so awesome....

Pedestals will be for other standalone games in the series - we are planning seven games in total. To quote me from other thread:
Same art style framework (paper pop-up books) with a different sub-styles fitting genre. Each game will be a tribute to a different genre (so no BoD sequel) with different mechanics. All games will share common launcher (at least that's the plan), metascore, achievements and such.

There will be post launch DLCs and support for Book of Demons, but the pedestals are for other games in the series :-)

Will the players be able to design their own adventurers or even campaigns ? Will the players be able to link them (such as let's say part 2 avaible only if part 1 is completed) ?

You should check the planned features thread:

Level editor/Modding support are tagged as "In consideration".

Yup, it's in consideration. We would like to integrate steam workshop to a degree. Preparing custom tilesets is in the real of possibility.

Ahh, that's will be a wonderful thing. However, game takes much longer than I anticipated. Right now I killed butcher and made one step down with the fighter. took me about 5 hours!! However, I have to admit , I always selected longest option avaible :}

Then it looks like you will get lots of gameplay from Book of Demons :-)

By the way, regardless of how long flexiscopes you create the total play time will be the same. The game allows you to finish it in chunks you prefer but adapts maps to always give you a complete experience (with a boss fight near the end, loot distributed in a rewarding way and such). So regardless of whenever you can finish it in 100 very small sessions or three very long ones the idea is that each session will leave you satisfied and total game time will be the same.
