18+ patch

For those who have read the game wth all the 18+ parts intact, is it worth waiting for the patch to release before reading alternative for the first time or do they make such a small difference that I can just read those scenes after the patch releases?

Well, there are laws in Japan against visible genital in media. This is the reason why you don't see nipples in alot of anime, black bars/mosaic and stuff over genitals in alot of hentai/live-action Japanese porn, and so on. I don't know the 100% details of the Japanese law that prevents it. There is Japanese media that doesn't do such censorship. So it may be that the material isn't banned, but the laws making it harder for it to market it uncensored(ie. can't be shown on TV).

The argument will stop when developers/Valve stop censoring games(in Valve's case, stop making developers censor their games to be allowed on the store).

In the uncensored version of the game the suits are close to the skin tone, and you can barely see the nips.

Actually, those images were taken from the 18+ verson of Unlimited using the patch off of Denpasoft. (https://denpasoft.com/products/muv-luv-director-s-cut-dlc).
I never saw the original release version - perhaps they were more revealing there? Or was there another, more revealing version? The image linked above seemed slightly lighter but still wildly darker than Meiya's actual skin, and you can interpret that as nipples or not (they're not in the right place for the average woman - too far "inboard"). I was always more concerned that they were so contour-fitting that their navel was clearly visible but there is that weird, loose wrinkle below her breasts.
Anyway, I grew up on nude beaches in Southern California so nipples aren't really a thing for me outside of an actual intimate encounter. I personally feel that getting all worked up over something like that is silly, but that's obviously just me.

Just wanted to point out that those suits were originally see-through, so he wasn't totally wrong.

in reguards to the suits, i dont see too much of an issue, sure, they are ment to be see through for cadets so thier instructors can indentify potential injury due to inexperience or training, but you still get the general idea reguardless.

as for the h-scenes, the first one being story integral, was okay, they filtered down the moaning on loop, made alternate CGs, but the text itself is identical and mostly intact, and i cant remember if that scene had spesific mention of genetilia or nipples (and since i dont have a save i dont want to replay the whole game just to compare) but you get the full story.

the other h-scene is a bit censored and you dont have the actuall sex there, but its still satisfactory, i dont think the 18+ patch is really needed.

and im not sure, but i think they add some new scenes compared to the original (atleast i dont remember CQC vs Ayamine Kei in the original game.)

And I don't really care who's "right" here - since it's available in both "all-ages" and "adult" flavors, take whichever floats your boat. I was just confused because I hadn't seen all of the original art and what I had seen hardly seemed "offensive." Wasn't even comprehending the basis of the argument. I couldn't even see them as living beings....

It has more than 1 hentai scene, and all the scenes are major plot points as well they aren't there just to be there like in most games like this, 1 Tells the background story of a certan girl and how she ended up how she was, and then later on that girl finally obtaining what she couldn't during unlimited. If anything was there just to be there it'd be the semi-see thru mech suits they wear for the girls, Mind you I didn't mind it, but its something that was not needed.

But yeah I suggest you wait for the 18+ patch because without those 2 or 3 h-scenes your going to miss out on some of the story (one part major backstory to one char, other not so much of importance but still relevant to the overall story) since they are all pretty relevant.

I played this years ago with the fan translation that was of the 18+ version myself. Play it how you want to.

If you want the full story: get the 18+ patch so you don't miss out on things relvant to the plot.

If you wanna miss out on some major story aspects, go ahead and skip them. Just know you'll not be getting the complete picture and such.

The scene is still there, but with different CGs and a litte more than half the dialogue (Any line talking about "H", Grotesque Body Modification and sexual organs were removed), so there is no plothole in this version, just less PTSD for the reader.
