18+ Patch Question.
Since a post was made about a patch this tells me that there is a patch for this game.

My question is when will the patch come and do u have to pay? I ask because some VN u have to pay and I have paypal and cannot use to pay for patches since PayPal doesn't like adult content:(

If a patch comes soon I am thinking of gettin this VN.

For the game yes, for the patch no.

Sweet:) This is great news then. I'm going to wait to buy the VN when the patch comes out. Hopefully the patch comes out soon so I can play this VN and get the small launch discount too:)

I've gone thru muv-luv ages ago all 3 (extra, unlimited and alternative) in english already, the 18+ versions I mean. I guess the diff would be uncensored cg's. but the only one of these I feel might be worth buying is alternative, cuz extra and unlimited kinda.. suck.

Personally feel the first 2 games are solid in their own right and that the relationship between you and the characters needs to include those games to have a full effect.

I have to agree that extra is a weak game on its own, but the context it adds to unlimited is great. Unlimited itself is good (tho there's better games) and Alternatives is my favorite VN/Story of all times.
I finished Alternative in 3 days...and I'm a slow reader. I didn't get much sleep...let alone do anything else while playing Alternative.

The first two games are by most VN (and especially by LN standards) generic high school trash. Unlimited is better than Extra, but it still doesn't do anything in its own right to act as a standalone title. It's still imperitive that the biggest reason Alternative is good is that it is able to effectively and masterfully tie together EVERYTHING that happened in the Extra and Unlimited disks into a true work of art. For the most part, there are very subtle references in Extra and Unlimited into Alternative and references in Alternative to the first two as well. However, it's simply a question of whether it's worth it to dig through a boatload of trash in order to find gold. A large part of Alternative can be enjoyed without going through Extra and Unlimited, but I would also say half the impact of Alternative is missed out on if you don't go through the first two.
Extra and Unlimited have always been the contriversy in the orginal Muv-Luv franchise as they have to be compared to Alternative.

Going back to the topic, do we know if the patch will be available on day one? Thinking about buying this with my No Man's Sky preorder. If not I will probably just wait until the patch is available.

I haven't heard anything yet concerning the patch. I know backers of the Kickstarter are getting the keys mailed tonight, probably very soon judging by the e-mail I got. I imagine as soon as there is any concrete information regarding the patch they'll let us know.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but everything I've read seems to indicate that it'll only be free for KS Backers.

I seriously doubt that is the case considering that they don't have a way to sell it on steam.

How other VNs have done it is they just have a link somewhere on their studio's website to download the patch band it isn't ever directly on steam.

Not on Steam, but they could pull a Denpasoft and sell the patch outside Steam.
I can't find any concrete source either way.

If they do that I don't think you should feel bad if you grabbed the patch from a kickstarter friend or something.

I don't support charging for the +18 at all

You can get the key now if you go backerkit and sign in.

Extra can be okay if you can handle silliness. The only unbearable part of the Meiya/Sumika route was lacrosse. Everything else is bearable at the worst, with some funny scenes here or there, and the Meiya ending is entertaining in a ridiculous way. I haven't read the other routes though.

I'd call Unlimited good, especially if you're a sucker for world building like me. It ends abruptly though, so if MLA was never a thing, that would suck.

I'd assume the 18+ patch was low priority, and expect it after MLA (though hopefully this year). For Extra and Unlimited H-scenes, you aren't missing much, but I understand waiting to purchase until the patch is a reality.

Do these scenes actually have anything relevant to the story or characters in them?

Only eroge I've played was Tears to Tiara, and it was basically just a fun VN/RPG hybrid with some completely random, utterly inconsequential, and super cringe-worth sex scenes dumped in every few hours.
