Director's Cut Patch Installation Instructions

[Muv-Luv]

Director's Cut patch[denpasoft.com] installation guide:

1. Install Muv-Luv on Steam. If you have already installed Muv-Luv earlier than November 26, let Steam auto-update the game to version 1.15.
   
2. Start Muv-Luv once.
   
3. If you are a backer and have download the patch in BackerKit -- please remove <uploads_*gibberish hexadecimal numbers*_2F> from the filename so that the two parts of the patch are named "MuvLuv_DirectorsCut.zip" and "MuvLuv_DirectorsCut.z01", respectively.
   
4. Extract the zip file, then run MuvLuv_DirectorsCut.exe to install the patch.

P.S. If windows extractor and 7zip doesn't work, use WinRAR[www.rarlab.com] instead. 7-zip's latest version is confirmed to be working too.

Q: How to know if the patch is installed correctly?
A: There's an early event in-game where Takeru barges into Meiya's room. A CG[puu.sh] will show up where Meiya's changing clothes. Her "Buhboobs" should be visible if the patch is correctly installed.

Q: My card has been rejected by Denpasoft, what should I do?
A: Just email [e-mail] and they'll assist you in making the purchase.

So i did as you said and ran the game once before downloading the directors cut software and it showed a disclaimer right at the start. Plus when i did download the patch i didnt have to extract any files at all. I just ran the program and it SAID that it installed the patch. But if i already saw the disclaimer before downloading the patch then how am i supposed to know if it installed correctly? Im not really a fan of playing through, finding out the patch wasnt installed right nd then having to play all over again o find out what i missed. Please help!!!

I had the exact same experience and feelings, BigMan. You can review my post above. All I know for now is just to play and trust that when it said it was successful that it was successful. I wish there was a version listed on the splash screen.

The patch absolutely refuses to install for me. It always states that game needs to be installed and run once even though I've already done that and even gone through some of the prologue. I've tried reinstalling and even running the game as admin without success. Does anyone have suggestions?

Update:
I was finally able to install the patch by logging into Windows as the Adminstrator user, running Steam, running the game once, and then finally the patch stopped complaining and installed.

Techinically you can buy it from someone else (who purchased it for you). You can't be sure they aren't just selling you a pirated version however.

So instead of risking to make piracy a lucrative business for frauds, I would just suggest that you find the pirate copy yourself. It is the best thing you can do when stores don't want to work with your banks.

Just getting around to trying to get the backer patch installed. When I open it, it is an .exe file - not a .zip. When I double-click it it says 'windows cannot complete the extraction' and 'The destination file could not be created'. I can't rename it. I can't mess with it at all really to try and trouble-shoot. I have opened the game previously. I am not the most tech person in the world, so I apologize if this is a stupid set of questions :) P.S. I have seen much easier ways of doing this FYI...

you go into your account on the website and you should see a directiory called downloads.

I bought it from the web-site and do excatly what the instruction says, but it still says pls open the game once before use the patch which I have already done( many times)

Any comments or who can tell me how to going forward?
