Help! Starting at 60fps, ending at 20fps.
When I start playing I’m at 60fps but mid-way through a mission (2-3 minutes in) the fps starts to plummet somewhere around 20 fps when a lot of titans are around. Then around 40 fps when nothing is around, I cannot get back to 60fps unless I completely exit the game. I was hoping someone could give me an idea of what the problem may be.

I7 5960x

16gb ram

Win 10

GTX 1080 Most recent driver installed.

I’ve tried the integrated graphics solution in the nvidia control panel, but only my 1080 shows up so that’s not the problem.

Also using a 4k tv if that matters.

Anyone!? I really want to play this while enjoying the experience.:steamsad:
20fps is just killer on the eyes!

Try adding A.O.T. Wings of Freedom in your nvidia control center under 3d settings -> Program Settings
maybe disabling vsync there
worked for me (i5-6600k, 16GB RAM, GTX 960, win 10) stable 60 FPS

Well this only works for laptops and simply adding it to the controll panel wont change anything

Thx for the suggestion Elenda, but it did not work. Whyyyyyyy! My favorite show made into a decent game and I can’t enjoy it! I don’t even care that it’s locked to 1080p (well maybe I care a little) I just want it to function properly.:steamsad: Anymore suggestions will be appreciated. There has to be some kind of fix!
1-Go to setting in your game than change to full screen mode
2-Save than close the game
3-Go to Nvidia control panel and make sure that your main GPU is set to Nvidia

He doesnt use a laptop. This only works for laptops with an integrated gpu. Or did you ever see a tower gaming pc with an integrated one

Getting really sick and tired of people spamming that 'fix' when that only goes for laptops.

As Dome mentioned, I’m using a desktop I don't have integrated graphics. But don’t let that stop anyone from dropping suggestions. I'm open to all that think will help.

Have you done all the normal testing? (Sorry, always have to ask):
-Turn to lowest settings (both in game and in nvidia control panel)
-Turn off all other programs/applications

Do you overclock your CPU, GPU, and/or RAM? if so:
-Try going back to stock settings to see if there may be instability

If no change, then consider:
-Clean install of GPU drivers
-Clean install of directx
-Clean install of game

When the problem you're describing usually happens with my rig, it's because v-sync has lowered the framerate due to the rig's inability to produce a consistent 60 fps. This usualy isnt due to nvidia's v-sync, but the game's v-sync code. If forcing v-sync off through the nvidia control panel didn't help the situation, I can only reccomend the above fixes until the developers patch the game.

You could also consider forcing your "flip queue," or pre-rendered frame maximum, to a higher value (default is 1 or 3 depending on the game's code). It would increase your input lag, but it might be the key to keeping a constant 60 fps

literally tried absolutely every one of those already, so i guess ill wait for an optimization patch.

there really is no reason that i can run far cry 3 which has to load much more assets on ultra at 60 fps while aot lags even inside the room at the beginning where eren argues with jean with everything on low/off. don't get me started on shadows either because that takes away 20+ fps even in that room, insane. they better optimize this stuff asap.
