Question About Movement
I like games that give you a huge amount of control with how you move.

That said, does this game allow you to pretty much anchor wherever you want, or are the routes you take pretty much 'on rails'. That is to say, can I truly go where I want to, how I want to, or do you just point in a general direction while the game does all the hard work for you?

More specifically, is it easy to move around how you want to move, or is it over-simplified to the point where you're just watching what is basically a mini-cutscene whenever you anchor onto something?

All you can do is choose the direction you want to move. The game takes care of the anchor placements for you and while it can act weird sometimes its overall pretty smooth.

Semi-Auto I guess?

A game does automatically uses anchor on buildings, trees or whatever for you but you have fully control and freedom to move around a map when or whereever you want, up and down left and right. It's actually simple and easy, you press one button to shoot anchor and it will automatically launch on something then you float into sky then press your movement button to control your character to move in direction you want. You can also use your anchor to climb a wall or buildings.

However when fighting a titan you get to choose where to hook your anchor into, their arms, legs or their nape, you also have fully control to move left right up and down, and choose when to move in to attack and out to avoid getting grabbed.

The movement style is extremely similar to the old Spiderman games on console. The better ones, specifically. You can't anchor to the clouds like Spiderman could in his ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ games >.>

That being said, between the anchors and boosting, you can pick up some pretty insane speed, and the control is mostly on point. Every once in a while you get a bit of wierdness where your anchors connect to something behind you and pretty much cut off your momentum, but thats about it.
Thanks for the answers guys, it just seems a little too over-simplified for me. :)

Still looks like a neat game.

If you want something more complex, and got a decent rig, look up Guedin's AoT fan game. It uses full physics with manually controlled anchor placement. Need a good machine, because its not really optimized at all, being one guys project on the side.

Think of it as the better spiderman games. You press the button to hook to something and depending on what is near you it hooks you to it and somewhat steer you one way of the other. It is a bit wierd at the beggining but after 2 or 3 games you should be able to use pretty much like they do in the anime xD

Maybe watch Jim Sterling's impression on it. It should answer most questions about gameplay mechanics and the such.

^This

Also recommend Attack on Titan The Tribute game.

The tribute game depends purely on players' skills, while the Attack on Titan Wings of Freedom heavily depends on players' gears. I love AoTWoF tho. It is just so cool with all the cinematic and character animation.

In the tribute game, every titan besides some special titans, Annie for example , takes only one hit to the nape to kill. However, the most difficult part of the game is to land that hit correctly.

You might want to try that game. You have the full manual control of your character.

lol W-force did actually well on this more fluid than any dynasty warrior game they have made lol.
Also it actaully take time to get use too the flying its what make this game amazing lol...

I might get it on sale. I was kind of expecting true freedom of movement but it seems like the game is designed to be played on a controller, which I can't really blame them for, but not having different control schemes and not having the ability to aim where you're going to anchor are dealbreakers for me.

Movement is easy, once you're used to the map and camera it's quite simple to manuver, Anchor points are pre-set (Unline the Tribute gane) so you're pretty much stuck with what's arround, but unless you're in the plains you'll have no issues.

That's the problem. It seems like it's a little too easy to move. I was expecting something a little more difficult, and all of the difficulty seems to come from how much health the titans have and how much damage they do to you rather than needing really precise twitch reactions to not get eaten.

Looks like a game where you farm items instead of improving your game mechanics.

It could've been more like the tribute game I've come to love, games still new we've gotta give it time. Nothing's perfect lol.
